Scrapping for nearly 10yrs as a Copper Hound just cutting cords. Been able to micro scrap for the past few years. Not every metal thing i find is scrap. Decorations or sell

All my years of scrapping I think I only had one of these and it is still floating around to be stripped after a few years. I keep putting it off because I have a good one and figured I could use it for parts someday even though I do very little soldering anymore. You know the murphy law, once I rip it apart and scrap it, I will break my good one and would need something off of it a week later. But because it is still around my other one will run forever. I have a pile of dead tools I keep around if they match my tools. I did replace my switch out of my sawzall out of a dead one I got in a scrap haul not long ago.

I think it’s smart to keep back up of tools just in case, I know I do. I even have a back up microwave and a back up tv. Great thing about being a scrapper it’s easy to find stuff for free and when things break, we can scrap them for a little money. Thank you for watching

Weller sordering guns are too heavy to use for long periods of time. But you cant beat their performance for outdoor use where there is air movement. They perform flawlessly.

any plastic waste that I have, I put it in my recycle bin with my trash company. hopefully it will get recycled and not stuck in the landfill.

Interesting to see the transformer inside a Weller soldering gun, but it sort of hurt to see one scrapped. I’ve been using these for a half century, and they are generally pretty bombproof. You are dedicated; you certainly put in more labor than the value of the salvaged material. But to each his own hobby.🙄

You could probably figure out what it costs per ton of garbage to take it to the dump and subtract that from the total profit. Doesn't make much of a difference on something small like this but it might play a factor on something larger. Interesting fact either way. I believe it’s $120 a ton for garbage, somewhere around that area. Dad told me last night you’re coming up to visit soon, will be great to see you! Thank you for watching buddy.

Yeah then divided that up to see how much per pound to dump trash and subtract that from the total. Just an idea, trash adds up too eventually. Not super psyched to be returning to the big city but I have a wedding of some good friends and am really excited to see you and your dad. It's one of my motivating factors when planning the trip stresses me out.

Absolutely! Copper can be coated with chrome, silver, tin, brass, etc…

@@scrapitall200 Obviously be safe, your life and safety is worth far far far more than some clicks... But; You could always rig up a metal box for the rolled up spring make have a nail in the center of it, have your phone or go pro filming from above, then, use a grinder on a string if you can maintain it from a lowered string to cut the area just above the weld and it should set it off. That's a rough idea anyway....
