I’m not lying to people. It’s easy to get scrap for free and even get them to drop it off at my home. This motor took 10 minutes to scrap and is valued between $22-$30.

Love your videos especially the ones where you deconstruct motors. I've been getting this a lot though: the screws are rusty around the motors (I source most of mine from dryers and washers) if I use the drill the screw refuses to unscrew and makes a hole which doesn't fit any drill bit in my kit (I've got over 100 bits and I've tried them all) how do I deal with a rusty broken screw? Surely you've come across a few over the years. How do you deal with it? What method do you use to extract the stubborn screw? Much appreciated!
@scrapitall200
@scrapitall200 Күн бұрын
I guess it depends on what it is. If I can, I will just use the grinder to grind the head off the screw or even use a cold chisel to knock the head off. There is a tool called “easy out screw extractor” they work really well getting broken or stripped screws removed. You can find those on Amazon or auto parts store.

2 things❤ 1) I always strip vacuum power cords; especially when the motor is wound with aluminum. 2) More importantly, the "brushes" for any electric motor (so I'm told) are 60% silver! So I have a small growing collection of those carbon matrix bricks that I'll grind up and smelt down one of these days❤

Take a file to them cause it’s probably the nickel coating. I’ve scrapped hundreds of these and once I found one to be aluminum, a couple were steel, but the vast majority will be brass. Hope that answers your question. Thank you for watching.

I scrapped a transmission from a Lexus RX400hybrid that has 2 magnetic motors. the 1st powers the car, starts the gas engine when needed, the second powers the second used for powering the car at freeway also they keep the 600v high voltage system charged inverter, converter keeps the 12v system charged. think I retrieved 50 pounds cooper from 2 windings. The 1st stator has 14 earth magnets super powerful, each magnet 1"x4"x1/2" thick. They are held together with the thin tin leaves like you use the big mechete to cut but it has slots cut with the 14 magnets v around center. . took me 2 days to retrieve the 14, 9 are still in the second stator
