Hmm.. Like many other have stated here Salvaging speakers/subwoofers for metals is typically a no-go.. But amplifiers and similar stuff is a massive YES! However, many brands in the audio business do sell recone kits for their products, and they only cost a fraction of the price for a new driver. And you could easily re-sell a freshly reconed subwoofer, and gain much more money back

Magnets can vary in price, depending on what they're made of, magnets from hard drives can fetch up to 10 euro a magnet, worth finding someone who deals with them

As others have suggested maybe magnetfishing in rivers with the big magnets? You can also try and sell them as magnetfishing magnets. They're especially good because you pull a wire through the middle.

the yards I go to magnets always go in the steel pile but there are yard out there that pay good money for all kinds of things so yeah keep on keeping on. also am glad every one is okay

Ok so you pushed it in from one side of the cone throwing the coil off axis. The coil looked fine and not shorted out so you most likely destroyed a working subwoofer

You were wrong there is nothing wrong with that speaker if it didn’t play it’s probably because the leads are disconnected but you’re completely wrong when when you put your hands across from each other the coil it didn’t scratch it all but when you put them in a corner of course it’s going to scratch against the magnet it’s literally commonsense

Yeah he just ruined a 200.00 speaker. The coil didn't even have one scratch or heat marks

Yeah because when he pushed it with his hand is directly across from each other it didn’t scratch but when he did it in the corner of course it’s going to scratch

The metallic bricks are Hard to see clearly but from a cursory glance I would guess that they were a counter weight for a gate, or an overhead door, from a barn or industrial revolution era factory window or possibly fire escape !

You need to put the very edge of the magnets on the steel blocks and whack the middle out right now you're basically just pounding it against the blocks there's only glue holding it on

Scrapping is one of the worst things to do if the item works. When that sub works, you can sell it as an individual unit and get a lot more money than scrapping it.

Absolutely! Scrap value is the absolute lowest value for anything. This unit probably would have been worth fixing.
