Hi, I’m Dan
Basically I’m just this crazy guy from Lethbridge, Alberta , that has this crazy expensive hobby. Being retired I had to come up with a way to pay for this insanity without touching my retirement cash.
So what’s the solution? Of course it’s making extra dollars hauling junk, removing scrap, and breaking crap apart separating the metals to get the most bucks possible and keeping these valuable resources out of the landfill.

It was to greasy I think the compressor burst, there was hardly any oil in it, and heat marks on the rotor

I cheat what you used a grinder on I use a plasma. I skip the time to drill a hole in it to drain but what I do is I always keep it upright at all time and leave it sit for a while. this way the oil is on the bottom Then when I do decide to cut them open when i have a few laying around and a cooler day, fire up the plasma i cut them open but i always keep them upright even when i pick them up onto my cutting table at all time and when i get the copper out then i drain the oil out from the bottom, no need for me to do that extra step of drilling a hole but i see why people do it when they lay them down sideways to cut them open with a grinder. as long as you cut above that bottom notch/ indent you won't hit the oil and drain it all over. I like air conditioners. I picked 2 up on a back road a few weeks ago. here they charge you $20or $25 to throw them away whole so they always end up on a back country road someplace when they are no good anymore. If i go someplace i always travel back roads and then i will usually use a different route when i come home. you just never know when you will find a fridge or an ac just dumped.
