Scrapping compressors. Will it be copper or aluminium?

Scrapping compressors is like scrapping transformers. You never know if it's going to contain copper windings or aluminium ones.
Watch along and see what we get. This video also shows the motor splitting with an axe.

I don’t know of any markings on them that would say if it’s copper or aluminum, but that would be so awesome if someone knew and let us know. That axe is sweet! You should make a playlist and add all your videos to that. Will make it easy to binge watch and help with your watch hours.

Hoping to see an episode about how and where you sell the scrap metal that you salvage. Curious if you ever melt it into ingots. Safety third! That’s my motto! EDIT: This is another EPIC video!

Check my channel for a scrap yard video. I take it to a yard called Daltons in Edinburgh, Scotland. A good yard but they don't give different prices for better quality metals. For example all aluminium is one price whether its extrusion or cast. All brass is one price whether its red or yellow. All steel is shred so no prepared steel prices etc. I'll film the next trip though my friend

@@ScrappingScotland I watched the trip to the scrapyard video. Really enjoyed it. Your payoff came to about $55.00 USD. Definitely worth the trip and time. I have to say the best part of your videos is seeing how all the everyday items you scrap are made and what they’re made of.

Drill into the coils before opening SS, save on cutting time/ discs👍

Those metal blades last forever but dang they just dont cut. Could have done that in a quarter of the time with a regular cut off wheel.

Yeah they aren't the best for thick steel. Good for nice easy cutting jobs only

you need a guard on the grinder and anti-fog on the face shield

What's the anti-fog? Is that just a spray? This cutting disc I'm using is a little big to put my guard on. It touches the inside of the guard so had to remove it
