Scratch Bashing

Күн бұрын

Warhammer 40K Orks need some panels to help them loot things. It's me, Scratch "Casting" Bashing here with a custom "model kit." No NDA required.
🎬 Support the channel by joining Patreon: / scratchbashing
I build up a whole bunch of panels and then mould and cast them in resin. Then I slap them onto a bunker-looting bunker. This is all because Games Workshop did the bad.
Should I make another attempt? Do you want some Ork panels of your very own??

@ScratchBashing
@ScratchBashing 3 жыл бұрын
@@krlecool8445 I ran into a lot of roadblocks trying to get my kit professionally cast locally. (The good news is that if I ever need bronze statues cast I now have quite the contact list). Resin can be tricky and I didn't have some of the major league equipment to produce high quality casts. Since then, I have learned a lot about hobbyist-level mold making and will be making another attempt soon. We shall see how it goes.

Resin advice, if you lightly powder your mold and tap out excess (baby powder works, I've use metallic powder trying to avoid painting) it creates capillary action that helps draw liquid resin into details, and sometimes makes demolding slightly easier.

I used talc on some of the pours. Mixed results. But yes, generally that is very good advice!

This was a great tutorial. I have been casting my own sci-fi models for a while and it does take time to figure out a method that works consistently when you are open pour molding. It really is great to make a master then see it cast in resin. Thanks for sharing this.
