Dude, Phil is a fucking monster. Nothing against Mitch, he was incredible. I just think Phil's screams are more technical and versatile. Love both men, even though I listen more to Whitechapel

Definitely. Phil and Mitch are two of the most brutal vocalists in the deathcore scene, maybe not that much anymore, but they both are deathcore legends

Can't compare both... Phil's vocals are more specified for deep low sounds, while Mitch his vocals are better for highs... Technique is equally as good. Combine both and you have one sick false chord singer.

Yeah I’d personally say Phil has a bigger arsenal when it comes to his voice, how ever I think both are amazing and great to listen to also. It’s their uniqueness which makes them stand out, in any vocalist, making it so we can appreciate the differences. I love SS and Whitechapel, how ever itd get full of there was only one around, if you’d really where I’m coming from. Shout out to Eddie Hermida too, I think he’s just as great as these 2 also. In fact he has a bigger arsenal than Mitch does imo, I don’t think there’s ANYONE who can perform Mitchs original stuff as great as Mitch did, reason being because it’s his stuff, this goes for any artist imo.

I wouldn’t call Phil “versatile” but his gutterals are the best in the business by far IMO. His gutterals alone make Whitechapel worth listening to and I usually don’t listen to metal for the vocals.

Personally I feel like they’re two totally different vibes. SS just seems like a pissed off mental patient and Whitechapel gives me the feeling of a hungry bear. Unbridled rage vs technical precision. Just my thoughts.

Still fantasizing today how epic their band would be IF they collaborate. Phil's lows and mitch's screams i mean c'mon it's just ridiculous how good they were in their prime, their music has been massaging my eardrums for years now! Mitch was an incredible vocalist so is Phil. Phil's lows and gutterals were monsterous. Both of are and were incredible live. Mitch's highs made me a fan of suicide silence and Phil's lows pull me in to Whitechapel. They are the greats in my eyes when it come to deathcore vocalist

Well one screams low and other screams high so it's kind of an unfair test. Both are awesome but I do listen to Phil ALOT more, cause I like the lower screams better.

i actually dont agree. phil does low as its quite easy almost all deathcore bands are of low but mitch is totally of high. phil will have his throat spilled if he tries high. so according to me screaming high is quite hard than that of low

Ankur Ghosh You’re wrong though, the amount of vocalist that use a technique doesn’t make it easier. Highs just usually don’t fit with deathcore instrumental as well as lows do.

It’s impossible to decide sense they both use very different styles, Mitch uses a very high pitch scream while Phil uses a more deeper growl, (personnly I like Mitch more)

They honestly master opposite pitch vokills. Mitch masters the high and Phil masters the lows. So not really anything to truly compare except them not their skills. It’s up to your tastebuds. I love them both.
