For 30W Ultra Violet LED Floodlight or 250W BBA No.1 Photoflood Bulb, calculate the exposure time using the following frame size and lamp height combinations: Frame Size: 8 x 10 inches & Height: 16 inches = 7 minutes | Frame Size: 10 x 14 inches & Height: 16 inches = 8 minutes | Frame Size: 12 x 18 inches & Height: 18 inches = 10 minutes | Frame Size: 16 x 20 inches & Height: 20 inches = 12 minutes | Frame Size: Speed Screen™ 10 x 12 inches & Height: 14 inches = 1 minute (30W UV LED) or 4 minutes (250W BBA) | Frame Size: Any & Sunlight = 45 seconds

Cool! I am looking into getting into screen printing to use with my Cricut machine (as opposed to sublimation or HTV). This may be good for items that I want to make over and over again.

this is a fantastic product for prints you want to make over and over. For use with your Cricut machine, our new Craft Vinyl Kit might be a good item to consider too--it's got all you need to make stencils with the Cricut to get printing in a few easy steps!

Hello! In this video we actually use Ink and not Paint! We recommend using our Speedball Acrylic Screen Printing Ink for printing on paper, wood, or cardboard! You can find it at a variety of retailers including Blick and Michael's !

I'm curious why it's so important to not let the ink side of transparency touch the screen. Is that because inkjet ink might transfer during exposure? I had to go up to FedEx to have them print transparencies (long story/fight with my inkjet), and had we some trouble getting my reversed image to print on "top" of the transparency on their LaserJet. I think it's okay now, but it made me wonder why accuracy in this step is so important. GREAT video! Proceeding with confidence this weekend! 😎

We really understand how sometimes fighting with the printer can be frustrating. Sometimes when the humidity is too high, the printed transparency sheet will stick to the screen, making it difficult to separate the two. Thus the tip in the video!

I bought a couple sets of screens from Blick and used 6 and 9 minute exposure settings with my exposure table that I have used for years. I want the screen versatility and ability to print onto softer, rounder objects and inside sketchbooks. My 6 minute exposure was rinsed on both the emulsion and back side (recommended against by this video), so no wonder it washed completely out. The 9 minute exposure eventually rinsed out even only rinsing gently on the emulsion side. What should I try next? I have two more kits and don't want to waste it all on silly trial and error. thanks!

FYI if you use the speedball light bulb to expose and expose for the 9 minutes she suggests YOU will melt your speedball transparency into the speed screen and it will tear apart. It was awesome paying $30 some dollars for 3 screens that all melted after following her directions.

This looks fantastically easy,, but is the emulsion that gets washed away toxic? I would do this in my kitchen sink, which has a spray function, like the one in the demo. I wash vegetable in that sink. It might be possible, though awkward, to wash out in a bathtub with a moveable shower head - but, again, toxicity would be an issue. And about that exposure unit: What kind of lamp is it, where and how would I get one, and how much would it cost?

The product has been validated to be safe for use in traditional plumbing setups like that in a kitchen, bathtub, etc., and will not pose a risk to water systems. We would recommend our new LED exposure lamp that only takes 1 minute to expose this type of screen. It is available in our Speed Screens Kit with all products needed to create a project included for between $75-$80, depending on the point of purchase. Thanks for your interest!

we would not have any exposure times available through our lab for that specific light source, but we have no reason to believe it wouldn't work

i really want to try this with my high school arts classes. but i am in canada. near toronto. and i cannot find your product anywhere online in canada?? how can i get this! and can i buy more than 3 sheets at a time for my art department?

Thanks for your interest! Kings Art and Framing is located in Canada and linked in the Where to Buy page for this product on our website. They'd be a great option! As of right now, the three pack is all we have available for the sheets alone, but we are considering larger packs for the future!

How many times i can use one speed screen? Only 1 desing and can remove it after u expose it? thank you

Speed Screens come pre-coated with emulsion so they are designed to be used for one design, though you can cut them down to smaller sizes to have multiple small designs. To re-use a screen for many designs we recommend using the photo emulsion method.

With Speed Screens since they come pre-coated it may be difficult to reclaim the screens. If you are interested in using a screen for multiple designs we suggest looking into the Photo Emulsion method or Drawing Fluid and Screen Filler method, where you can use remover to reclaim and re-expose screens with new designs!

It keep messing up I'm doing everything the video say, are you sure it 9 min with only the motion light or my art work to short to wash the red motion off

It’s really hard to gauge the time since the UV rays can very drastically from places to places. We recommend using our LED Exposure Lamps.

Does it take 1 min to expose with a 250 Watt bulb?

Hi, that's a really great question. Exposure times vary based on your light source and screen type/size. When using Speed Screens, the exposure time with the LED lamp shown (30W UV LED) is 1 minute while a 250W photoflood bulb will require about 4 min if both are set about 14 inches from the screen.

You will need a UV lamp for the exposure process! Sunlight alone won’t work.

yes! Speed Screens are suitable for use with any of our Fabric or Acrylic Screen Printing inks

@@jasonsaley4145 if you would like to print the same image with different colors, the screens can be cleaned between uses. if you would like to do a print featuring more than one color, you would simply need to do multiple screens and register. if doing the latter, we would recommend using the Speed Screens in a screen frame for easier registration.
