The completion of the RSTC or equivalent form obviously requires honesty on the part of the diver. Lying is tempting and certainly occurs. However, we like to remind divers that diving with an underlying condition does not only put them at risk but also their buddies and any diver involved in trying to assist them. Plus, they might be impaired and not be able to assist their buddies in return. There are ways of getting around some medical conditions by having two able-bodied divers dive with a diver with a particular medical problem, and choosing dives that pose the lowest risk and have the closest proximity to medical care.
