Lego Batman is top for me, it´s not afraid of being ridiculous, and yet it is the one that best addresses the fact that Batman's self-imposed loneliness is actually his fear of losing someone he loves again (it also had me laughing the entire movie)

The plot of this movie is so dark. The timeline is never fully set in stone, but his ex-girlfriend's father is murdered and she is staging the revenge murders in a way so that the father or batman could plausibly have done it. In a sense the Joker is the detective in this film, also.

I actually love the fact that the Phantasm was supposed to create Terry McGinnis's Batman identity in JLU's Season 3 finale. Of course, the character didn't do it because it was just too far, even for Amanda Waller's Project Batman idea.

True story: I saw this in the theater when it came out with my younger brother and my uncle. Right at the part where it's about to be revealed who the Phantasm is the movie stopped! The film got jammed in the machine. So you hear the Phantasm say "So... you figured it out" and grabs the mask to remove it and then nothing. I've never seen a movie audience more pissed off in my entire life. It took at least half an hour for them to fix it. Worth the wait, but my God, the WORST place for a movie to suddenly stop due to mechanical failure.

This is in my list of the best Batman films. Along with The Dark Knight, Batman (1989), and the Lego Batman Movie. There are others, but these are my top 4.

If you included the Batman 1966 movie, Batman Returns, Batman Begins, Batman & Mr. Freeze: Subzero, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker, then this might have been a list of essential Batman films for fans and newcomers.
