@@jimmy2k4o this is depressing because Frank is obviously letting out a lot of pain and anger here. Who screams and howls like a banshee while doing something that brings them joy? Did your mom act like this when she did the dishes dude? C’mon man think, before his wife and kids died THIS VERSION of the punisher said he had absentee and elderly parents and got in street fights as a kid. Also a lot of people who join the military don’t have a lot of options so this Punisher was probably poor growing up too.

When Schonoover first spoke of how Frank cleared an enemy LZ in _Daredevil_ Season 2, I visualized the setting to be Vietnam (as with most depictions of the Punisher's past), with Frank wearing jungle green camo fatigues, his arms and face soaked in blood (much like the way he looked after the prison fight), with fiery smoke trailing from the scenery behind him. I was quite surprised (and subsequently pleased) that the incident occurred in Afghanistan instead, bringing classic Marvel lore into the 21st century.
@yannickvaz6942 жыл бұрын
Yeah, events of Kandahar (as mentioned in Daredevil S2 and this scene) are supposed to be a modernized version of the Garth Ennis "Punisher Born" comics. Even Schoonovers description in Daredevil matches the ending of Born (probably the image which you were picturing) Also, wise decision making the Punisher a Middle eastern war veteran rather than a Vietnam war veteran. Otherwise he would have been almost a 70 year old man in the series.

@@alphagamer9505 Well, Captain America it still a WW2 soldier no matter what. Comic book setting or television franchise he was put at, he still was a WW2 veteran. Think about that, we always get to see Captain America origins in WW2 never in Afghanistan, Vietnam or Iraq.

JFC! Jon Bernthal absolutely killed it in portraying the Punisher. I "think" he was on "Hot Ones" and he was saying that he had dudes coming up to him on the street say "Shane, you can't fuck this up" in regard to him playing Frank Castle.

One of the things I like about Bernthal's portrayal of The Punisher is his animalistic intensity. Unlike the colder, more methodical approach of Thomas Jane (and nothing wrong with his take), this guy is a beast in man's flesh.

This "left wing progression" you speak of isn't erasing what you did for your country. We all thank you for your service. However, what this "left wing progression" is doing is trying to mkae it so that no-one else has to go through what you did. In fact, it's not really a question of politics. It's about morals. Do we really want to go to war again based off a lie? No. All war is for is for filling the fat pockets of the CEOs of defense companies, and the elite. Again, in no way am I discrediting what you did, nor am I saying it was wrong at the time. All I am saying is we all want a better world, right? Let's fucking make it.
@sentinel_nightcrawler2 жыл бұрын
@@ZakPorterBridges0451 it isn't that simple. Just go look at the situation of the entire planet where wars are constantly going on. In the name of religion, politics, money, oil etc. No one can stop the bullets from flying in Afghanistan or in whatever other country there is that will have a war in the distant future. No, the reason for war is to get some message around, invade or erase a threat. That is why armies still exist. Your little moral code only tries to stop the defense of a country that could be bombarded any minute now. Poverty and disease spreads yet here you are, trying to keep it going on, there are those that keep people in that state, and you are no less guilty than they are for speaking out against defense. So no, we don't need you stupid moral code keeping us puny, no, we will load every gun there is, put on the kevlar vest, and prepare to fight.
@ZakPorterBridges04512 жыл бұрын
@@sentinel_nightcrawler Ok then, you keep fighting your senseless wars. Leave me the fuck out of it. Is war really worth it, with the amount of mental anguish and physical suffering soldiers go through? For what? Go on. Tell me. What are you fighting for?
@sentinel_nightcrawler2 жыл бұрын
@@ZakPorterBridges0451 hell yeah it is worth it. So you're trying to tell me that if someone were to have invaded your land, enslaved your people and killed your loved ones, you wouldn't fight back? you are a coward, a spineless weakling who cowers before the enemies. I don't care how much anguish it takes. I am defending my cause no matter what. Go back yelling at the government with your Liberal morons for friends and see what the true saviors are trying to do to keep your people safe. Your cause is no different to that of the Democrats, just politics, and no true answer to help with anything serious. I don't know why I am talking to a coward honestly.
