The symbol of coal is one of my most favorite symbols that represent the atonement of Jesus Christ. Several years ago, at Christmas time, I was teaching my children the symbols of Christmas. And I wondered why would Santa give naughty children Coal. I searched and never really found a great answer to why he would give that gift. Somehow, I came upon Isaiah six and the symbol of coal. This became the most profound symbol for me. What greater gift could someone give than the gift of repentance to whom is “naughty”. When we view Santa as a Christ figure the gift of coal truly becomes an amazing gift. A gift to change, to repentance, the gift of becoming some thing greater than we are. - who doesn’t want coal for Christmas now?!?😁

Thank you for the great summary! Please stop talking as if it was only about the past & please focus our attention to realize the distraction & wickedness is our own. We need to face the truth. And what ham would it do to be better anyways but save us from destruction. Also, Avraham Gileadi is an expert on Isaiah in our day! He knows the Hebrew language, has studied ancient scripture & was a professor at BYU. On his website, he reads Isaiah verse by verse explaining words, traditions & culture and past & future prophesies. He does not sugar coat the destruction & chastening that the saints will receive & I ask that you don’t either. Isaiah was written for our day so let us have it straight & let us be better because of what the Lord is telling us. Thank you!!!!! I tell all my own teens & my Sunday school teens to listen to your podcast & I appreciate your simple approach for them. It’s wonderful!
