What I like about Scroop is that he is a rare example of the henchman being MORE evil than the main villain. The henchmen have often been tricked or forced into helping the main villain. Sometimes it is revealed that they are in fact good-natured people (take Kronk from Emperors New Groove). Silver despite his flaws shows redeeming qualities, Scroop however proves to be irredeemably evil.

Scroob is basically Scylla from Godzilla king of the monsters but with human level intelligence

I believe Scroop is more the main villain than a henchman. Because Captain John Silver does turn evil first but then later becomes good thanks to Jim. so he’s not a villain after that moment.

Agreed! Michael Wincott voiced Scroop in Treasure Planet, and Wincott showed up in Jordan Peele's NOPE, great (character) actor 🙂

I don't think Scroop is a henchman, but a real villain compare to Silver.
