RIP Joe Flaherty! Jayne Eastwood was the talented actress wife of Joe's writer brother David, who preceded Joe in death in 2017.

It starts long before that, 8:10 was the first I spotted and it seems to have spiralled from there... I'd like to think it wasn't scripted, but yeah,it was brilliant

I'm thinking, and it is a guess. That his line where he talks about the side effects and how the face gets blotchy and the rest. Then they pan over and show his wife's face all blotchy and just has a bad complexion. Thinking it was just a coincidence that his line matched her actual appearance he realizes this and cracks up. I loved it, tho. Love unexpected moments like that.😮

Am I wrong or is Jackie Rogers, Jr. a dead ringer for Jimmy Saville? Martin Short did say that Jackie "represents all the sleazy aspects of show business", which fits the creepiest man ever to make Top of the Pops. Philosophers at Work is hilarious, especially Acidophilus/Short's indignation over Sean Connery being pronounced the only viable Bond over first Lazenby then Roger Moore.
@canaisyoung3601 Жыл бұрын
I'm guessing that's just a coincidence.

From what I heard Top of The Pops was wrought with prepubance sex scandal punk bands (my friends) protested being on it..the Buzzcocks found out after the fact.
@wonderrob32253 ай бұрын
So funny the way acidophilous, draped his arms over that tall chair and then when he stood up his arms remained the same way 🤣
@QuadMochaMattiАй бұрын
As a Yank seeing random clips where Jimmy Saville was included, he always struck me as a super creep, even without knowing the really dark stuff about him until years later. He just sent out some really odd vibes... total stranger danger.

As much as I love most of these actors, this was a hellishly bad season, with Jackie Robinson, Jr. as the only highlight.
@VHScape2 жыл бұрын
It's Jackie Rogers Jr. not "Jackie Robinson, Jr." You should have voraciously read his name more closely. I love season 6.
@canaisyoung36012 жыл бұрын
I didn't consider this a bad season, but I did feel like this was the beginning of the end for this show. The fact that the best cast members they had (Candy, Moranis, O'Hara, and Thomas) all left is the reason why the last season was weak.
@DonnySparrow Жыл бұрын
This seems to be the prevailing opinion, but honestly, I think the final two seasons are the very best. Strongest production value, most unique characters, great rewatch value.
@taxirob22484 ай бұрын
@@DonnySparrow I think people have their favorites and don't honestly evaluate anything else. For example, the Ebersol era of SNL was just as good as the rest, imo. And people who crap on it don't even acknowledge that he was there for season 1. Same with SCTV, which had a short run, but still turned out gems like this after half the cast left. And this isn't the crappy cobbled together rebroadcast American version, this is the real deal .
