Bob Hope working with the Chinese to figure out what would be funny in China is hilarious! Dave Thomas' Bob Hope is one of the best impressions of all time.

Dave Thomas did the BEST Bob Hope. No one could do him better! I miss John Candy and SCTV. Better than SNL.

Hope walks in, kills it and makes Bittman look like a 2nd rate comic. Love it. Levy was anything but 2nd rate. Amazing comic actor. Thomas doing Hope was pure genius.

Couldn`t have said it better. Hope was so big he`d just stroll on when he felt like it never waited for an intro. One of a kind.

Bobby did not appreciate having his bit stepped on. Levy is my one of my favorite characters in the troupe. There was no "dead weight" in the whole cast, they were legends in action.

The whole Sammy Maudlin Show is perfect. Features washed up B performers patty themselves on the back for mediocre contributions. So perfect!

Part of what makes SCTV so classic is at times you may not know if its the show or the actual TV (which they were parodying). Coming mostly from Southern Ontario, they largely based it on Buffalo network affiliates...but Palm Springs will do :)

The way Sammy is laughing so much reminds me of the louder with Crowder crew laughing at anything Stephen Crowder says, lol. I must have watched this episode a dozen times, always new material I missed, thanks for posting.

“Funny man Bobby Bitmann” !!! Bobby really needs to do the late night circuit NOW. I can pray that Sammy starts up his show again, sadly without William B, but until then, the world needs a little Bitmann every now and then to prevent sadness.

@VHScape Right. There is no comparison. Scrv was on a whole different level. Their humor was an art. Snl is written for simpletons. I can watch a whole episode of snl without cracking a smile.
