I use water to smooth the clay. Don’t use too much of it because it will make the clay too soft.

For demos I use just pottery clay . Whatever clay I find, nothing in particular.

For demos I use any leftover clay I find in my studio. For more serious sculpting I use terracotta or low fire white clay.

I agree. In water based clay is easier to make any changes .
