The new spawning system just completely RUINS the immersion. You cant for example clear out a bunker. There are infinite zombies in there. WHERE are they coming from?? Also keeping the hordes and fixing it would be so easy. Use the old spawning system (maybe just turn up the number of puppets) and make the horde scream call all the puppets already there to the screams location. There is no point in trying to be sneaky and clear a place out anymore because its impossible. You get one horde scream and suddenly the whole place is filled with puppets again. Honestly we had better hordes when we had the old spawning system with max puppets.

Im amazed how hard the devs make this simple fix look.. The players are CLEARLY asking for the same thing, whats the big fucking deal? Just give us the normal spawn system.. jeez..

for me the devs have zero credibility left. And as we say, words are cheap. So when they say "we fix it", I believe it when I see the fix. Until then, my review (after 2k hours where I actually had fun) will remain negative.

I seriously don't think they understand the problem here. Puppets spawning "on" us is just one part of the problem... I wouldn't mind hordes spwning in if you make too much noise. That idea is fine. But there needs to be more puppets - and they need to spawn in when you're AT LEAST 300+ meters away from a PoI/town. Scoping out a town/PoI from 300, 200, 100 meters away and no puppet in sight is just... Immersion breaking. And when you've cleared an area? It needs to stay clear for a while.

That point you made about the puppets spawning back in town right after you had left it, that issue was there even before this new system, it's been bothering me ever since they implemented the puppet spawn system, more than a year ago, and I was even more bothered that nobody was talking about it. Spawn system is immersion breaking no matter what. Devs lost their motivation to make a survival game that is better than the rest with these compromises... Had to uninstall after over 2k hours in the game lost hope in the devs. Too bad this game had so much potential...

ya hit the nail on the head mate, well said and good points raised, hope the devs watch and listen as the puppets spawning in a bush 10m in front of you is just bad in any way it can looked at, im looking forward to what is to come, but things will be much worse when its no long a puppet in a bush but npc soldier with a mk18. it needs to be fixed as ya said the old puppets with the new breaching windows/doors would of been fine and enjoyable, surely they could have gotten rid of a heap of other things to improve performance for example do we really need 25 bunkers now with most not even spawning loot.

This is the reason i have pulled the plug on Scum my self a year ago. I was playing so long Scum and enjoyed it and loved it. Untill i realised puppets spawn system. Tried to close my ayes thinking it will be allright but eventually i had enough. Didn't touched Scum since, tried few times for like 5 minutes each time and its just felt even worst. So if spawn system will get sorted i will be all over the Scum again if not Devs failed

Bro me and my discord server loved this game so much and were initially so excited for the update. It literally took a couple days of gaming for my server pop to go to zero and the people in my discord quit it completely. Sad day and yet they continue to use this spawn system. Now it’s flipped the other way making things too easy. Eliminating long rifles completely and immersion.

Scum started going down hill when they added base building,,, yeah that long ago. I played it every day from launch for 5 years...With continuously added content that just turn me away from it. We are supposed to get off the island not build for long term. Dropping in by parachute? give me a break. I love the game/hate it... The Devs got off track because they kissed players a## and added stuff it didn't need. Sniper rifles with no long range shooting. And Dayz has no Zombies...aren't they infected???

Do you know what's really going on? In my opinion, this company has become greedy. You see, they're more concerned with releasing stupid DLCS than fixing crucial game systems like the spawn system. How hard is it for them to do it right? Are they stupid? Because I don't understand all these years and now they've fucked it all up. Other more recent indie games with a smaller budget and team are light years ahead of SCUM and the team puts on a show in terms of after-sales service - Enshrouded for example. What I really believe is that the company is on a scale and the shareholders want to tip it to the side and gradually implement the concepts of micro-transactions and a store, leaving the game badly fucked and grinded just to force players to spend more money.

It is a shame I am already subscribed, because I can not subscribe again. I do love KZfaqrs who have an opinion on their own. That alone deserves a sub. Talking about DayZ. It is my favourite game by far and I currently have around 8.3k hours in it. With vanilla settings the infected spawn at a distance of 300m. That is if you’re alone in the area. If there is someone else closer to the town you might even see infected from much further away. Are the infected in DayZ perfect? By all means, no. However the amount of infected depends on how many players are in that area. The all do spawn in a cluster and then walk of on randomised paths. It’s not like back in the day when the used to be on tracks. Been playing DayZ now since .53 and been modding it since 2019. There is a lot of room for improvement if giving access to the modding tools. Scum atm would definitely benefit from it. DayZ has been in development for over 10 years now and they still make improvements which is something I really like. However, without the modding community on pc the game would not be so popular right now. That being said, there are more players on the console versions than on the PC version. Another KZfaqr made the comparison and it was really informative! Anyways what I am trying to say is that the SCUM devs are probably trying to milk their way to the console launch to then milk the game even further. Simply because they now that they will get loads of money from the console players. However Bohemia Interactive notices (almost too late) that it is important to listen to the community. A game can die pretty quickly if you have an ignorant dev team working on it. At the end of the day all we can do as players is stop playing until the devs actually get it. Doesn’t matter if Raykit or whoever fanboys his paid ass if no one is playing it anymore. Unfortunately when that time comes it is gonna be way too late. My predictions are that they’re gonna release 1.0 in Q4 to get the game out for console and then just gonna fix a few bugs for another year before they abandon the game in total. It’s unfortunate but it is what it is. There will be another game someday which will be even better. Just a shame the devs couldn’t listen to the community. Could have been great.

They also need to fix the movements of the puppets. Jumping way up in the air and things like that. This has been a problem since 0.4. To me they waisted so much time coming up with the most ridicules health system they never fixed any of the main problems of the game. The puppets. Cooking. Fishing. And now they messed up the hunting. I have 1000 hours into the game but always quit because I hate so many of the bugs. I come back when they have a big update and play for a while to then leave because it seems like they fixed nothing. It is a game I want so much to play and enjoy but in the end it is no where as fun as Day Z or any of the other 20 openworld games out there. They all have some issues but they get fixed. It seems like the Devs for Scum purposely don't want to fix anything but make you just learn to deal with it. Sorry. Rant over. Enjoyed your video and opinions.

I tried this game a while back but hated the stamina system so went back to Dayz I keep up with the game but nothing is really pulling me back in

On a standard unmodified dayz server thay spawn in 100 metres as you get to the spawn area for them. It causes server lag for a second or two depending on the server host. On scum they spawn around you depending on the puppet count. Whilst similar they are not the same. Scums spawns are linked to the encounter system which at this moment is better than the vid release but still broken. The encointer system is like dayz's CLE. But just for puppets.

for vehicles,, the raft is not the only thing missing... The seaplanes have been gone a very long time, the chopper and cruiser motorcycle are coming back as well... Also the old spawning system was 100% better.. could sit and snipe puppets all day long..

Well after the last few videos I've watched, the answer is no, they're not. You will get new foliage, new camo patterns, a rather useless quad bike, another, likely unkillable, item in the form of the dropship and guns jamming randomly but, no, the spawning system is "there to stay" . The problem is that we are deal with emotional devs, who really never grew past the age of 6 yo, and that are now getting personal about imposing this system on a player base that does not want it. GG (not) 😂
