I've been saying all this time that the 74941 is crazy underrated. It's slow as hell but you cannot get stuck in that thing

Most important thing, 74941 rolls coal.

74941 is a lifesaver in the early game. It can pull any weight on any terrain without a problem. It has a nice fuel capacity and I scouted the whole Russian map with it. Speed and lack of chained tires are the only downsides of it.

I think the 74760 is more made for forests. That's why it has the sloped bumper, to help it get over things like trees and rocks, but suffers a lot in mud and swamp for it. I think, anyway, i might be wrong.

The 74760 looks so much better, but that bumper really does it dirty :'(

I love how even years later and with active suspension and multipurpose gearboxes and the bumper fix for the 74760 the differences between these siblings are the same. One is a faster heavy hauler on dirt and road, and the other is faster in mud and basically impossible to get stuck.

As someone who used the 74941 i prefer the 74760 just because it doesn't have a long snoot that gets stuck on terrain

Fun fact: these are IRL MZKT military trucks, which makes them the direct successors of the maz 537 and 7310.

Could you do a video that shows the best off-road trucks for craning Maybe a small crane vid and a big crane vid? Is there much functional difference between the crane types US/Soviet? First off, great video! Second, I love this game. It swaddles my soul like a mother does a new born baby. Third...... I'm tired of paying top dollar for games that are basically still in ALPHA. This game has SOOOO much potential, but is riddled with bugs. Most are small and esthetic but some are game breaking. There are a couple bugs with missions that are going to make it unable to get 100% completion. 70 bucks for alpha.

I've spent too much time getting stuck in mud in a hopelessly underpowered vehicle getting absolutely nowhere but the game kept drawing me back in. Now I've built a few bridges and cleared a few paths in something that can drag a trailer thru mud and I'm now ready to take on the world. Quality game.

First thing I had my friends do was gather up some of the free trucks and sell them for a Kolob 74941. Amazing for just powering through the start of the game

The Kolob 74941 has helped me so much. I got to the point where I did everything except from hauling stuff out of deep mud as my vehicles just were powerful enough.

I think you should redo the TUZ420 vs YAR. You put them both in low for mud, but the TUZ is slower in low than the YAR. If you put the TUZ in auto for all of the mud contests, the TUZ would destroy the YAR every single time.

The appearance and sheer amount of smoke of 74941 is enough to sell it for me XD

It’s funny as well since the 74941 was made for the desert and the game itself even says it should have trouble negotiating wet and/or cold terrain.

It might take a long time to do. But you should do a side by side comparison of all trucks in each class. For example. There are 4 heavy duty trucks. So have all 4 side by side on the screen. I think itd be very beneficial. If you have the time of course!

The 74760 has some weird issues with ground clearance, even more so than his bumper would suggest. Occasionally, especially on offroad terrain where you would drive in high gear, it just nosedives into the dirt grinding to a sudden halt. I think we have seen that very issue with the dirt mound test here.

74941 also has more ground clearance underneath look for yourself, therefore doesn't take engine damage as often going down from slopes and over rocks etc. Throw the highway gear on it for a bit of a boost to speed, it will make up for the slower pace over road by plowing through rough terrain and mud much faster. It's also very stable with low center of gravity. Great truck if it can haul what you need in a trailer or high hitch. Perfect for pulling stuck or flipped trucks. Only downside is slightly less fuel but nbd they both have big tanks.

It's not the bumper on the 760 that's the problem, it's the undercarriage. If you look at it in the preview of the store the is below the wheel rims while on the 941 it's closer to the wheel hub for height. I've got the 941 and was thinking of getting the 760 when I get to level 22 as I like it's looks more, but that sort of changed my mind and this video sealed it. I do like that the 760 smokes a lot less. The cloud that the 941 puts out is ridiculous and makes it hard to see ahead of the truck sometimes.

I think this video is needed to be remake, because collision model rework twice and there is a active suspension upgrade now

74941 easy win. That extra ground clearance makes all the difference. It'll get you pretty much anywhere in this game. Just gonna be slow. But slow moving is better than not moving. But we need more heavy trailers. Both for missions and personal use to utilize these heavy trucks more. Need a heavy flatbed for these with 6-8 cargo slots or the ability to strap our own trucks to the heavy duty low boy trailer to transport them to areas all at once

@SD1ONE inspiration for future test: add-on's weight on vehicles vs handling.= example: 4 hummers (4 colours) -2 with raised suspension 2 stock. each group have one with no add-on's and one with all (roof rack+repair trunk+lights on top) now test test them against each other maybe add a racetrack. doing donuts with all add-on's will likely tip it. personally i prefer the mobility of a hummer with no added weight and stock suspension.

A cool idea would be for each win one of the trucks gets ut recieves a new visual thing like the roof racks or external horns.

When you run out of vehicles for direct comparisons, you should do a study into vehicles with the High Range Gearbox. Some vehicles get a massive boost from the H gear that seems worthy of future study.

You forget to mention, that Kolob has wonderful firework option, when the engine get fully damaged by water!

One is powered by a Caterpillar engine I think it's the long nose one. The long nose one was made for the Saudi army to pull it's Tanks through the desert, it's the only truck that can pull 2 tanks and another lesser load. The long nose Kolob is better.

maybe you should change 74760's bumper and try again

The centre of mass is much further back on the flatfront one so its way easier to drive without a trailer

I think the long nose kolob turns better at speed because difflock is disengaged

I didn't end up using either of them because there isn't a single high-saddle trailer in all of Taymyr. Maybe that will change with DLC.

Everyone always thinks that I’m stuck when I’m driving the 74941 in mud or snow or weak ice. Like, it’s getting there, don’t you worry, it’s just so slow. Had someone winch to me while I’m crawling through the ice and they got stuck and I literally just kept going the same pace while pulling them out of the water. Things an unstoppable force and an immovable object. Also want to mention that the 74941 is also a literal moving bridge that can just crawl across crevices since the front end hangs out so much it just lands on the other side and slides across.

Just a suggestion but since the object of the game is hauling stuff not just driving the truck you could start doing all the tests with trailers

The bigger one is the one I use. It and the x8 trailer. Move most everything I need. I just load them up and take two or more depending on what's needed. The kolob 74941 the front hangs up on things. The other just goes over them.

i like the 74760 but the fact that those steps that hang off the front bumper catching on everything makes it hard to get anywhere.

I was driving the Kolob 74760 through Island lake and it keep stopping in the mud as if it was catching something. Has anyone else had this issue? I think its probably a glitch but who knows. Its very annoying when i try to put it in high gear and it keeps stalling. It more or less ruins the usability of the vehicle because it slows you down way too much and hurts fuel consumption.

I traded the Royal BM17 for the 74941. Beat purchase I ever made. The royal kinda sucks in my opinion. But I just needed some heavy equipment that can get through mud like a champ

I get the 74760 stuck on rocks in imandra/amur all the time, very annoying. Got the active suspension now, see how it does.

I was disappointed with the 747, I expected a more powerful 749, but it has serious problems with ground collisions especially in Russia. I prefer slower on road to stuck in mud or crashing into sticks

I used mine to get stuck trucks out of mud. I literally tow it on the lowboy trailer to the trail.

Eh I always try the azov 40 70 (or whatever it's numbers are) before I breaking out the kolob in terms of heavy vehicles. I just wish it's articulated steering joint was stronger.

Kolob 74760 has a huge prominence in the middle of tiers, which makes it have a very low chassis and makes it very bad in offroad.
