Great job. I did the same thing but for the closure I used thin 100lb strength magnets. Works awesome. Strong but just requires a little strength to pull open. I even attached the cup holder corner table to the door so the whole thing swings out when opened.

That’s awesome I appreciate you sharing some good ideas for me to try next with this.

I just step over it! you use that to grab on to when your getting in and out of the boat not sure that’s the best idea. One more thing you have to latch and unlatch seems like more of a hassle then just stepping your leg over. I did move the corner piece to the plastic one it makes a good step. I also made a trolling motor setup work would love to show you how I did it!!

It’s easier for the door to open for me then not open. Kids and smaller people find this useful Post it on your channel I might check it out

great idea. I would do it to both sides so when you dock you can get off from either side depending on which side you dock. Using the swim planform as an entry point is a great idea. I am thinking about buying one next year or so when I retire.
@EndlessRoutes

I would only do one side due to the sides needing support. The swim platform is nice but it’s bigger on 1 side compared to the other

I personally saw a fully functional factory door with a latch on a base 13. You would need a new rear panel and door which could be costly but would be a real professional job. You would have to remove the rear corner table/speaker box on that side.

Nice to have a rear entry especially considering the Bimini top closes by folding forward. Docking in a lower covered dock becomes an issue - not only for visibility with the Bimini down, but crawling under it to get to the forward door.

Like the idea. Does it rattle when you are underway due to the metal on metal contact? If it does, might be worth adding rubber cut to size to prevent it.
@EndlessRoutes
@EndlessRoutes Жыл бұрын
No rattling that I notice. So far it’s still holding up no complaints

how does it handle on the ocean? off shore fishing?
@EndlessRoutes
@EndlessRoutes Жыл бұрын
It handled well depending on how rough the ocean is When I went out waves where white capping and hitting 3-6ft I would recommend if you go in the ocean to make sure you don’t exceed the weight limit and able to move at least 18mph Also wear that life vest! I also recommend the 230hp ! I only have 170

Good Video! But yet another Sea Doo design flaw! Some genius engineer decided to have the only entrance on the front of the boat. But if you come into a dock bow first, you destroy the front plastic bumpers. The fenders don't fit because the cleats are too far to the rear and there is no way to tie them to the rail. One would have thought they'd put doors on the sides. Now, there is a door on the rear, which was a good idea, but they didn't put a latch on the door. I doubt if the plastic LinQ corner piece was cheaper than putting a latch in place. But they weren't even smart enough to design an after market latch and charge way too much, like they do for everything else. But don't get my negativity wrong, I love this boat. But the more I do to it, the less respect I have with the BRP/Sea Doo engineers.

I understand and agree with you. There are a few design flaws. I appreciate you commenting and sharing maybe sea doo will fix these one day.

I agree that the lack of rear or side doors on the sport and cruise models is a major flaw. That is why I had to buy a base model, then build it up with features on my own. I had do do that also because the models equipped with bimini tops will not fit under an 8 foot garage door even with the top folded down. It’s as if the design team were not actual boaters a d had little idea how the product would be used in real life.

Most people realize you can do this, please post your Bimini falling off now that you have defeated the structural integrity.

Kindness goes a long way Shawn, why be negative? Everyone is just trying to learn so if you have some constructive feedback like others have then feel free to share. Otherwise you’re not helping anyone with your comments. 🤷🏼‍♀️ This was done in a pinch before a trip and has worked fantastically while trailering long distance, Bimini put up and down multiple times, riding on rough ocean waters with high speed and hard turns. Literally no difference in the framework because the cords are tight. We are going to put something more permanent eventually but this has worked just fine for the time being. Have a blessed day and happy boating! 😊
