Remember people, the main difference between seals and sea lions is that sea lions walk and run, while seals drag themselves or bounce on their chonky bellies.

I volunteered years back at a marine mammal care center. The sea lions were so fun to watch. They're so smart and agile. Their barks bring warmness to my heart. 😊

I notice that a lot of "Stellar" animals are the largest of their kind; the extinct Stellar Sea-Cow is the largest Manatee, the Stellar Sea Eagle is the biggest eagle and now the Stellar Sea Lion.

You guys should do The Great White shark next. It’s important to educate people about the role sharks have in the eco system. They’re not just cold blooded killers like what’s shown in Jaws.

I’d love to learn more about Leopard Seals. I know they rip apart penguins but not much else. I saw this video where a Nat Geo photographer is in the water and a leopard seal is trying to feed him. I’d really love to learn more because now I find them cute yet terrifying

As a kid I went to Pier 39 in San Francisco a few times. I loved watching the sea lions cavorting and being loud. Great video, as always.

Did you notice how they had destroyed all of the boat docks? Sea Lions are very destructive. The wharfs there are OK but all of the docks are gone now.

Wait, so Sea Lions don't really hold their breath while diving, but basically rely mainly on the oxygen that is already in their blood? Never thought of that before, that makes it even more impressive.

Huh? Where do you think your body gets oxygen from when you're holding your breath? Your lungs aren't much of an air tank; you also rely on the oxygenated haemoglobin and myoglobin that's already in your blood and muscles.

Not sure I buy it until given further info and evidence how scientists came up with the idea that it’s for thermoregulation. Both water and air must be freezing cold and a moment before she said that they huddle together to keep warm.

@@pansepot1490 Air can be much colder than water with a difference of way over 10°C. Now think of how little of a change in temperature is enough to make us feel comfortable/uncomfortable. Our body temperature is around 36°C, but when it's 36°C outside we feel like ugh.. That's because the body is made to insulate for heat conservation - heating consumes energy while cooling does not, simply because it requires the opposite of work (production of heat as a byproduct). When underwater, sea lion's body is "working", thus causing a significant elevation in temperature, on top of that they are insulated to survive the air temperatures (otherwise they wouldn't be able to be out of the water - especially not for resting).

The aquarium near where I live has Californian Sea Lions. They have a small show with them and they have their own exhibit. They're the best and are so adorable!

@@giant3dorangutanmodel89 dunno if they still do shows. But I think they were either born in captivity or were rescued and deemed unreleasable due to injuries. They have a seal rescue organization, they also save turtles and a dolphin once. One turtle became a resident of the aquarium bc they had to surgically remove a fish hook from his throat. He was pretty chill.

I always wanted to go to Canada. It basically created my childhood. Ed Edd n Eddy, Storm Hawks, Totally Spies, Sitting Ducks, X Men Evolution, and the English dubs of Hamtaro and Inuyasha all came from the great white north, as did my favorite X-Men member.

Dont attempt to approach them waving a flashlight back and forth really fast, stomping the ground, eating cubed cheese; sliced is safe and wearing a sombrero in a goofy fashion. Practice drawing a perfect circle on the ground for safety measures. This will save you
