Pixelart is the best way to make games. They are absolutely timeless, regardless how old they are, you can play them over and over again. In comparision to early or bad 3D graphics, you get eye cancer from the early 3D games, they are nearly unplayable. You can play today Chrono Trigger and you will enjoy the graphics. But if you would play Final Fantasy 7 from the PSX, you will not enjoy it (maybe the remake yes, but not the original). Thats why retro gaming is such a big deal. If i think about the Playstation 1, nearly all games are unplayable today. Go and try some of the 3D PSX Games, they suck big chrono trigger balls. :)

I'm really beginning to love pixel art games. I'm kind of new to this style of game, so Sea of Stars really impressed me with it's art style.
