I got one: On a sloop, if you look out the windows in the captains quarters you can climb onto the ladders from inside. This is helpful for surprise tactics if someone is chasing you around.

I have a few. Dead sails. When sailing directly against the wind turn your sails face forward and you move just a little bit faster. Throwing a bucket of water in an enemies face blurs thier vision. It also sobers up a drunk pirate. From east to west travelling across the map is approximately 4 nautical miles. If you do not care for voyage completion you can drop an ops or gh voyage and just do the islands with the most loot then cancel and drop another to speed up loot acquisition. If doing merchants voyages you can drop voyages just to collect cages, crates, and baskets, then cancel. This way you can stockpile animals to deliver. That's all I can think of right now. Happy sailing.

Great video. I'd like to mention that the Kraken sound kind of just became the Kraken sound, as the sound was in the game LONG before the kraken was introduced.

When fighting a skeleton ship, throwing one firebomb at it and than shooting your cannon at it three times can sink the skeleton sloop.

Here's 9 more from me to some up and coming pirate legends out there. ( they may be known by some but I'll leave them here anyway) 1: Cooked food regen: The cooked food is phenomenal for staying alive and is FAR better to keep on you than all fruit except pineapples. 5 fish/shark/meat will give you 10 half health bars plus a regen to keep that health coming. So embrace that fishing pole and frying pan on your journey from island to island. 2: Avoid eating raw food/ eat on the run with the clever use of controller button assignment in the settings menu. If you assign food to your right stick click on your Xbox controller you can keep fighting and stay fed. Not to mention hitting it repeatedly will cycle through your available food and keeping you from getting blurry vision and puking during a fight. 3: Accessibility: if you go to your accessibility and turn on short button holds, you can load a cannon and make a repair or even anchor an enemy vessel with one tap of a button, as long as you stay put. This will greatly help you focus on your next move and save on controller battery during your voyages. 4: Plank give away silent repair: If you hold the plank in the give position and then hit repair it will silently make the repair. This way you won't let an enemy know you are repairing holes while below deck. Used with the last trick it will silently do it with the tap of a button. Plus you'll NEVER show your ship's weakness. 5: Tweak your sensitivity: People complain about cross-play A LOT in the game, and to be fair it is a bit lopsided due to frame rates and macros. But tweaking your sensitivity on your flintlock, blunderbuss, and eye of reach can give you a bit faster of a reaction time so you don't have such a tortoise and the hare type of feeling. Just be aware of rendering speeds and that if you set the eye of reach too high your scope may appear a bit blurry for a second so don't get greedy there flash! 6: Weapon range can be overcome by height of shots: Besides the blunderbuss you can deal effective damage to a far away fleeing "enemy/victim" by raising your shot height to incredible distances thought unattainable previously. This can come in real handy when dealing with pot-shotting skeletons on islands and strongholds you're approaching. Not to mention the jerks tailing you for your loot. 7:Holding block is a Great idea when Cutlass dueling. Not only can you jump side to side and forward and back, staying greatly mobile but it makes you much harder to be sliced and diced while swinging as slashing will override the block you're holding. 8: Use the chest of woes to sink skele ships: once you engaged a skele-ship with cannon fire you can board them with the chest of woes and since they cannot remove it or bail they're doomed to meet the bottom of the sea with that crybaby loot! Just remember to ride on the ladder at the very bottom with it to not flood your own ship with it's blubbering. But climbing on their ladder with it about halfway will easily sink them without even setting down your chest. 9: Use the PVE to your advantage/ love the Devil's Roar, be the Devil's Roar. If you are being incessantly pursued by a vessel take them through a tour of the most dangerous part of the map. If you are solo slooping make sure to let go of the wheel once locked in the center position, so you can dodge Volkswagen sized meteors with your name on them. Or if you're with crew have one or two stay below deck to repair or take your place at the wheel if you have been annihilated by the lovely scenery. Not a tip but just plain good practice, be patient with new crew and remember those few who helped you on your way through the ranks to be where you are. We were ALL new once, so show a crew how to succeed and hopefully one day they will do the same for another and help keep this an incredibly fun game with a generally great community! Last and most importantly of all is, have fun. You win some, you lose some, but the adventure is what it's ALL about in this game. If it isn't fun then take a break. Toxicity isn't good for anyone, especially you. Take care and see you on the seas.

I was playing yesterday. We were in a storm the the kraken appeared then a skeleton ship came in. The server just punked us.

That treasure chest tip is so useful, not only to hide the skulls but move them when you’re trying to cash them in! I gotta try that now! Thanks!

when sailing towards wind it is actually faster to keep sails straight than moving them to the side

I can't believe someone actually made a video with majority of the content being stuff I actually didn't know I always wondered what the kraken noise was, and found out today

There's an easy trick I like doing for digging up chests and trinkets. Basically, the very moment your shovel begins leaving the sand and pulls up the loot, un-equip and re-equip your shovel quickly by hitting the button twice. I don't remember the button Xbox, but on PC, you hit X twice if you didn't change your keybind for it. It skips the ending animation of the shovel rising back to it's idle state and gets rid of the delay between shoveling again. It's super simple, but it saves time.

I just completed the shores of gold today, I'm currently flexing the rewards with my friends and helping my friends with the tall tales so we can flex our rewards on other people, currently gonna grind other tall tales for all commendations

I didn’t know that if you stand next to the PL waterfall you can hear the singing for ‘we shall sail together’ I always just sprinted thru that :x mind blown

Too bad I finished Shores of Gold a few weeks ago. That rock climb could have been useful. I did find though that using an empty chest, going from vault to vault until the chest is full and carrying three medallions at once cut the time down immensely.

With your shores of gold tip there is also a latter on the other side that leads into the compass vault area. You could either take your row boat around to it or I think you could park your boat there. I was using my boat to jump from my sail but I happened on this latter on my third trip to the shores of gold. If your standing on the bridge going towards the compass vault area the latter is on the right side. Sorry I never took any pictures or vid caps of it.

I was playing 3 months before someone told me this next bit. Tip 10. You can attach a dingy to the back of your ship. Which is a great place to store chests. If your ship is sinking you can hop on the dingy and paddle away.

There is a ladder that acts as a shortcut on the north side of wherever you pointed for the Tall Tale thing.

The pointy rock with the arch in wich you can sail through used to get hit by lightning everytime a player joins the server.

im not sure if you know im pretty sure its true cuz i almost never get krakened, as soon as a skull fort of fleet is gone from the sky anchor your ship, even if you're in open water, they wont spawn a kraken on you, cuz imagine you had alot of loot and you were anchored and not on your ship and it got krakened without you knowing, so just anchor your ship, wait 5 mins or something and let someone else get krakened then raise anchor again and you're good

Outpost barrels respawn when you get a distance away from them. Walking to the other side of the island is usually enough to respawn them.

Now I know that this was made before emissaries were introduced, but did you know that when you raise an emissary flag, each crew with that flag is represented by a little ship on the table.

I got another one, Mermaids, as we all know don't appear when you are in a Rowboat. However, this applies in a Radius around the Rowboat as well. Meaning if you are tucking on an Island in relative proximity to your Rowboat, there is no Mermaid Spawn at all, giving the enemy no chance to know you are there.

In addition to the barrel resets; barrels reset on outposts everytime a player joins your crew.

Pretty sure skulls don't glow if you put them between the wood barrel and the brig (brig), under the stairs (gally). Never use sloops so idk about them. There's also a really good spot for skulls on a gally that I'm not gonna tell any of you, but just look under the stairs and have a play, you'll work it out. Don't quote me on it because I haven't tested it from a large distance but you definitely can't see the glow from close.

I have a recent video on my Xbox one of a battle I was in with a kraken, megiladon, and a big pirate ship at once. I'm not sure the server ment for that to happen but it's crazy...

I actually found that rock at the Shores of Gold :3 Admittedly I also swam all the way around from the wrong side but... it sped things up after xD

You should mention that if a boat is chasing you than you can drop gunpowder barrels behind your boat and when the ship runs over them the will explode

In regards to #7, I have had the kraken spawn while I was next to a rock. I was just trying to crash my ship and log out for the night and the Kraken must have been lonely and spawned right as i hit the rock.(it was not an island rock it was a lone set of rocks). Bonus fact it took about 35 pistol shots on a row boat to down a kraken tentacle

the kraken one was a good one dont really look in sky much and for the barrels before they were on a set time did not know this changed

Speaking of the boots, if you have a pegleg it throws off the gait and has more of a "thump" sound while running

Supplies at Outposts often refresh when a storm comes through... often happens on islands too. As long as u have been in that berrel(s) already... 😏

there is a noise made when you put all the sails in full wind on a galleon. i don’t know if it happens on a brig or not, but it doesn’t happen on a sloop.

Did you know sometimes on an island you can hear frogs croaking. I heard it I think in the shores of plenty.

Dude I didn't even know that you can join emissaries to level up emissaries faster. Got to lvl 40 in gold hoarders before finding that out

When you're digging up treasure chest if you double tap the cancel wall in the middle of shoveling it will go faster
