I ran into a crew who tried bucketing us to death after they sunk. We weren't about to sink so it didn't do anything.

Buckets are more important than repairs, go into every fight with extra meat health, chainshot the horizontal part of masts because it's easier to hit, only board when they're at least 1 man down. All I can tell you about pressure is, it's never over until it's over.

Hitreg seems worse and I'm getting a ton of micro stutter, but I fucking LOVE that Rare is trying (albeit failing, from what I hear) to remove doublegunning. Exploits are not skill, and the day they actually do remove it will be glorious. I'm not noticing anything new with the sword. The clothes are all excellent except the season jacket (well made, but a bit too Columbus...) but I don't think the guild xp gain is balanced. I made nearly 3 million gold in 3 days and barely got rank 2, yet I saw people on day 1 of the update with the helmsman outfit. Hourglass shouldn't be the only viable way to level them up. The monocle is indeed better, but it seems slightly oval-shaped. Not just on me, on everyone. I'm liking most of the insider news, but I question what's going to happen to two related, conflicting cosmetics. Weenie servers however, are terrible news. Defeats the whole purpose of the game, and will forever disrupt the ecosystem. Now, high seas will be nothing _BUT_ combat instead of the randomized experience it used to be. It could've worked if you couldn't gain commendations, but nope.

@@Bacxaber Honestly, I agree. My favorite thing from the pass is definitely the monocle and the sovereign themed ship. Those cannons are STUNNING! My sword hits have felt snappy and not spammy at all, but I did have a crazy hit reg issue on a phantom of all things. I am, however, hoping you’re wrong about weenie servers. I’m hoping I still see friendly players doing the quests and voyages you can’t do on PvE. I want to be hopeful, and I love what Rare is trying to do. The only thing I’m really worried about is the PvE servers, but I’m keeping an open mind, everything else seems like a massive step in the right direction.

I haven't cared in a long time. Still love TF2, but halloween's sucked ever since Eyeaduct and I miss the days when simply finding the hidden gift gave you a hat. Now, the soul gargoyles give you nothing and it's all tied to stupid contracts. I will never do contracts.

you have a point the contract can be super grindy especially on the chokey maps like brimstone. Took me 4 games to complete that one

Multiple ships can have the same name or it could also be one of the “default” ship names (there’s an in game setting basically meant for streamers that lets you hide your boat name and replace it with a default one)

They look pretty good, yeah. VERY glad to see another monocle. I have the merchant one but it's tiny and misshapen on me, so hopefully this one will look better.

Nice, and yeah I have. Weenie servers have basically killed all motivation to play this anymore. Defeats the whole purpose of the game and invalidates most of my commendations. Rare believes it'll act like a tutorial, but it's the opposite. They don't learn how to deal with pirates at all, and they'll never leave the weenie servers. They could make it work by either locking commendations, or making it like Chivalry's servers where you're banned from the kiddie pool once you reach a certain level.

1: Chainshot is your friend. It's more common in hourglass, but I NEVER see it used otherwise. Also, aim for the horizontal part of masts, they count too. Remember, they have a different arc than cannonballs. 2: Meat gives you reserve health, which is great for not abandoning your post as long as you're confident you won't die in the next few seconds. I dunno why some people still believe this rumour, but kraken meat only has 2 bites, not 3. 3: Curseballs are great, but limpball sucks and I'm not sure the ballastball even does anything to brigs. Always hit them with a riggingball after chaining them, it prevents them from pulling the masts back up. 4: Bucketing is more important than repairing. Against the advice of other PvPers, I would strongly advise against bilging through the galleon grate, since it's too risky to be worth it.

@@Bacxaber i agree with them all but very odd take on 4, altho i suppose it comes down to preferred playstyle. As someone who almost never bilges on gally since I play MC, ive always relied on bucketing through mid since im too inconsistent with grate bucketing, but from my bilge its really efficient, unless youre getting constant boarders since the issue isnt not going through grate but it backsplashing on a person, tbh it comes down to situation, and when you can confirm you wont have someone body block your buckets because the flex forgot they have a brain
