*I actually have A different problem with Halloween Restrictions, the fact they exist. I used to (and sometimes still do depending on whatever) play Plants VS Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. And in that you could wear whatever you wanted at any time. I hear the restrictions exist because of “Silhouettes”, the characters are still recognizable even with these goofy cosmetics! Just let me be Beep Man PLEASE*

To be fair Halloween restrictions exist because having a Xenomorph scout all year can really clash with the original character designs so having them restricted to only Halloween can be justified as them dressing up

It's up to valve what is and isn't Halloween restricted, which is incredibly upsetting when Workshop creators make a cosmetic specifically designed to be Halloween Restricted and it isn't.

I don't think Halloween restrictions should be entirely removed due to certain cosmetics being immersion breaking and generally really out of place when on a non-halloween map (e.g., having zombie skins on a jungle inferno map), but I do agree that many items should have their restriction status updated, and that goes for removing _and_ adding restrictions to specific items.

Some (both per screenshot) of these cosmetics are <=2014, and DAAAAAMN this issue is old lol 0:09 the left one was supposed to be a Pyroland Blood Banker LOOOL 0:01 (medic) nahhh hell nahhh... Teutonkahmun (left) wiki page has a link to Crown of the Old Kingdom (Tomb Raider cosmetic on the right) LOL 0:08 (heavy) damn that's ugly. I always check new cosmetics the very moment new update drops, and some of them are not memorable at all. this one for example. Merry Cone on the other hand looks so sad that it's very memorable.

Some people say that instead of lifting restrictions there should actually be more restrictions for items that don't follow the artstyle. Besides the fact that many Halloween-only items are actually pretty tame, I must also say: Think of the economy fools!

I 100% Agree. Halloween Restrictions just make good Cosmetics Unavailable for people. If I had my way, I would have the Holy Hunter, the Silver Bullets, and the Garlic Flank Stake equipped on my Sniper almost all the time, but it’s too bad that those cosmetics are Halloween Restricted.

They should rather make these items Halloween-restricted. They also should make many of over-the-top and just silly (but not Halloween-styled) items as "holiday restricted" (like noise makers).

I'd rather keep the current restrictions and have the egregious artstyle violations be added to the restricted list. The main allure of the Halloween restrictions is that they are only seen on Full Moons and Halloween seasons.

Another option could be changing the cosmetics that should definitely be Halloween-restricted but aren’t to having them restricted. Like the Spider-Pyro and the Orge Heavy. I’m dumbfounded on why those aren’t restricted.

I could _maybe_ give a pass to the ogre since it matches the 40k gob, but I don't know why they added the gob to begin with. It was just a generic summer sale item. I don't recall a particular emphasis on Warhammer at the time. But that still doesn't excuse the inconsistency of his earlier cosmetic being restricted when it's much more tame.

I think the issue is that people spent money on these cosmetics and after so long they feel it'd be bad practice unless absolutely needed. Frankly part of me thinks that Halloween restrictions were more based on them being free items originally rather than breaking artstyle. People had already gotten mad way back when a bunch of people got the cheaters lement for free

@@dragonlord564 While it is too late to change what is and isn’t restricted, I feel the future Scream Fortresses should be much more restricted. Sadly, I feel like Eric is a tad too lazy to actually put that much effort in TF2. So add it to the pile with custom-mapped skins, new weapons reskins, and community fixes that aren’t drag and drop.

There are a few items that absolutely should stay restricted, like the zombie souls, but I feel like half the restricted items in the game should have it lifted, it’s kinda ridiculous lol
