How do you feel about what you've experienced so far in Season 8's on-demand PvP, and in particular how has the matchmaking been for you?

It can’t be based on wins or anything because the first thing I did when I finally played season 8 was do the reaper faction and got put against a crew which all had the Athena ghost curse

Trunath, did you see the developer update, going behind the scenes on what issues they've been dealing with since the launch of season 8 and some of their ideas to fix-up the stuff in early 2023? It's a nice read and seems very promising.

Me and my friends tried pvp, but we always get stomped within minutes because the enemy is so much better.

frankly if it is based off of only win/loses in season 8 it would explain the messy match ups since at the beginning everyone started at one and it's been collecting data though if it does take into account skill then that's when things would get confusing since I know for a fact I have sunk many times and yet I've faced many people who practically sink me in under 5 minutes especially after 1 win and honestly my brain is just trying to wrap around the conflicting information even the dev with one saying win/loss and the other saying player data contributes it's a mess, srry for the long comment I will not do a tldr

Lemme tell you something. The software engineers are right. Anyone who is not a software engineer doesn't know shit and should be ignored. That said, the system could be tuned pretty loose in the interest of matchmaking time. There might be a few caveats that they didn't try to explain, especially if they could be abused to some extent. If it's a variant on ELO system, then that's what it is.

First off thank you for the video and your time this is like the fourth video I've watched of yours I'm new I've liked and subscribed but when it comes to this video specifically I would like to ask you a question and get your opinion because only your opinion matters I don't care about the facts you've explained enough that you play solo cuz I'll probably be playing solo mainly and you know enough about the game I have stopped at 6 minutes. This is the worst sbmm I’ve experienced in any game every game I get into games with people that aren’t on my skill level at all and I didn’t even play during season 7

dont understand why they cant just take the average of each crew's allegiance in that faction and use that for matchmaking the best solution would just to take the average playtime of ur crew and use that for matchmaking. this info is public on xbox and i think on steam also
