for short period of time the sea to summing (approx 45 USD) was available on amazon for 14USD unbranded. i got both of them and they were identical. we pay 30 USD out of 45 just for the brand name...

Interesting, maybe it was a defect because they forgot to put the log on and were selling it for cheap? Good deal though!

My current favourite is the Osprey Ultralight Liquids Pouch which doubles as my 3-1-1 bag. Well made, small and light - with see through panels so going through airport security is a breeze. It is also very affordable! There is nothing to this pouch except the pouch itself - no mirrors, hooks or anything else - I use a nite-eze S-biner to hang it up when necessary.

Tip: please provide Metric measurements via voice or on screen for all of us non Americans 😊. Otherwise, I love your videos. Good job. I have a slightly different version of the Eagle Creek that looks a bit more like the hanging style one from Seatosumit. I find it even better.

Great point Kervin, I provide the metric dimension and weight measurements in the description. I tend to not list them off in the video because it takes longer, but I realize a lot of people use metric. I like your idea of popping them up on the screen though! Do you have the Pack-it Reveal? I bought that one too to test, it's nice but heaver than the two I featured here.

@@OneBagTravels I can imagine that it's more work, but it is also more fun for most of the world who doesn't use imperial. It's just a tip, I still like your videos. I must apologize, my toiletry bag is not from Eagle Creek (I do own their packing cubes). But I was talking about the "Osprey Ultralight Washbag Zip." I highly recommend it. As the name says, it's ultralight and it looks like a perfect mix of the two you showed in this video. I love it myself after 3 years of use. The Osprey one has amazing features like: hook for hanging it which can be hidden away, front pocket that is also accessable from inside when the kit is opened, mirror, removable transparent pocket for easy to see things, many other transparent compartments, nice mesh and ripstop materials, YKK zippers and big zipper pulls. There are these bands on the back in case you wish to add them to the outside of a backpack or use it as a fenny pack areound the waist band of a backpack for example. Many options. Believe me, I dont work for them and I owned many other kits, this one is among the best for the price.

British-born, I was raised only knowing the metric system and obviously it is the one that makes sense. But I've now spent a third of my life in the US and I'm slowly getting to realize what fast mph is on a highway etcetera. Every now and then I forget to change back my settings and will freak out at the Celsius to Fahrenheit change on a weather forecast or even worse to be confused by the weight of a bag! Team metric!

@@IntriguedLioness Team metric! lol. We're all over the place in the US, liters for alcohol and soda, imperial for distance, I hold out hope we will make the full switch some day 😆

I had to smile when you said that these we are your top picks because they are mine also. I'm not sure, but I think I tried the Eagle Creek because of your videos! I know I now use Eagle Creek Packing cubes because of your recommendation. I have two sizes of the Sea to Summit. One is the large, and when is the other smaller version. Large may seem too much but what I love about that style is if you don't use the space it's just air. You put it in your pack and it compresses down. Easy peasy. I like the netting and I like the hanging style of the Sea to Summit. The pocket in the back is useful to me as a female I often travel with a small brush and I like putting it back there with perhaps a few hair ties because I know the hair will not get in my toiletries. Eagle Creek I like because I also use one of the side pockets for a toothbrush. Is a simple style and perfect for shorter trips. Just one humorous note... when you got to the mirror of the Sea to Summit bag and you said you would often take it out, (I always take that out and never use them. I simply don't find them useful.).. But then you said you took it out only to take it into the shower. 🤔 Do remember that some of your subscribers may be female and had to think for a moment as to what you meant by that!?! 🤷‍♀️😆

To be fair I haven't tried a ton of packing cubes, I just like the Eagle Creek ones because they're light and they work. That's a good point about the larger toiletry bag. It doesn't weight much more than the smaller version and packs down if don't fill it completely. Great point with the mirror! You were probably thinking "wtf is he doing in the shower with a mirror?" 😆I actually use the one from the Sea to Summit bag at home, I have another foldable one I use in the other toiletry bag. It's like a makeup compact mirror, foldable so it doens't scratch. I've had that thing for like 7 years and still use it!

@@OneBagTravels Comrade!! ..compared to my insatiable love and collections of carry-on / 1bags I actually have not tried or currently own but a few drop kits! For years I carried a Briggs & Riley akin to a block just because it came with the luggage .. and I found myself trying to fill the space taking toiletries on the trip that I probably wouldn't even need. For a few years I would use the kits that you get in first class if my job found it necessary to put me in first or business-class there was no rule that I had to give them the amenity bags! British Airways in Singapore Airlines where the best! At least a decade ago I was on a trip and wanted to downsize as I was taking only my daypack on a side trip and picked up an incredibly inexpensive hanging toiletry kit and that orange booger just won't die! Once I bought the Sea to Summit, except for trying the bigger size I hadn't purchased anything until you were mentioning the Eagle Creek and I thought I would give one a try because it's a brand I've stayed away from. Except for those two the only other in rotation is now a Rick Steves hanging kit that I picked up this past winter. The same design might be out there but except for the simplicity of the hanging kit it had a tiny netting hanger that one could take with you into a shower. I haven't had need for that yet but sounded like a better idea than getting the kit wet or dropping things. As far as the shower in the mirror thing I have been in relationships and therefore lived with men and I knew that shaving in the shower was a thing, but living in drought areas including California if I have to break myself of the habit of long showers they would have to break themselves of a steam and shave... I've actually been in areas / hostels where one would get tokens for showers and that would only give you a few minutes. Of course I would charm the desk and get a few extra tokens but that will break you up those habits! RE the mirror... Except for a nail file that I just haven't seemed to lose since uni, my go-to travel mirror is a basic makeup mirror that probably appears to be a metallic coaster to the baggage x-ray department but it is a simple makeup mirror that I've had since I was a teenager and it won't die. The little pins in the hinges gave up many many years ago and I threaded a cord through it which admittedly does have to be replaced every five years or so but has actually improved on the product because now it can be hung. That is honestly the oldest item that has survived all of my different phases of both business and personal travel!!

@@OneBagTravels I thought the Patagonia Black Hole would be perfect. Not. It looks waterproof but it is not. The zippers do not have a cage so there is a gap (and anything with two zippers will have a gap). If you have a spill, disaster. My Brown Buffalo DOPP had gaps on both sides. All I needed was one disaster (which I had), to lead me on a hunt. I prefer a more structured bag than you...But if you're happy, I'm happy.

I tried the the NiteIze and I will admit they are waterproof but when I travel I often open a bag several times often closing it only to have to open it a few moments longer. NiteIze is bombastic and if I ever have a situation that needs ultratite Ziploc style closures I'll use the one I did buy... But I tend to prefer a simple zippered pouch taking extra precaution to make sure the seal on any liquids is tight. I will not fault night-eyes though, they makes so many really great affordable products!

Have you tried solid toothpaste (tablets) OR dehydrating “dollops” of regular toothpaste (set dollop on wax paper for few days) I have the seatosummit but will try the eagle creek. Thx
@OneBagTravels

I've tried both the powdered and tablet toothpastes. They work but are kind of underwhelming and don't feel the same as regular paste. Like your mouth is technically clean, but it doesn't have that same satisfying minty clean feeling. Plus they're more expensive and not as easy to get as paste. I haven't tried dehydrating regular toothpaste, that's a great idea!
@IntriguedLioness

When I was a child I recall my British family often had tooth powder... In fact I remember the first time I emptied a toothpaste tube I wanted to know how to recycle it or reuse it. I didn't understand throwing things into landfill. I don't have an issue with the weight of paste but I do wish the West would become better at reusing tubes and vials. Nothing wrong with toothpaste as long as it was in a reusable container. The dollops I have tried. It was something that many seem to do on qualifying through hikes and I thought I would like to try it for the longer multi-month hikes. It definitely saves weight as I had all of the dollop on wax paper and then wrap that up into a very small container. It works. Just wasn't for me for travel, perhaps future through hikes.
