Howell is still young and was in a terrible situation in Washington. I think Howell’s ceiling is still higher than Geno’s, but his floor is lower. Geno is a bridge QB at best at this point. Even If that isn’t a bridge to Howell, it doesn’t mean Geno is the solution.

Geno is geno, not taking us anywhere, but serviceable. Howell is young, growing is still possible to be really good. Id rather see them try, then just exist

Sam not starting over Geno at quarterback i'm sorry. I don't know where the rumors are coming from but it's not going to happen. People love disturb drama when it comes to Geno Give a man his respect already. Build quality oline around the guy and then if he doesn't come through, then o k . But we all know seattle has never had a good offensive line, even when russell was here.

Sam WILL start in 2025 unless Geno gets hurt. This will be his last opportunity to be a starter. If not he becomes a high end backup for life. Personally I think he will be successful and once he gets opportunity he holds onto the starting role for many years to come.

Geno Smith lost his starting LT and RT in the first game. LT was out half the year and RT was out the whole year. Seattle had a top 5 worst o line last year. QUIT BLAMING THE QB FOR THE O LINE INCONSISTENCIES

I am curious to see what happens with our Seahawks. Hopefully the defense is better at being more physical and the tackling is better. Our offense needs to block better, run and pass. We need TE more involved, I thought it was a big mistake from Pete. We had excellent TE and we did not make the most of it. Letting Colby Parkinson go in free agency was a mistake, just like Brooks and Wagner. We shall see what happens. Going to be hard for players to trust this coach.

Geno is the starter, with Jodie Allen wanting to to win and get better, they will go with the QB that the WRs and TE know. Geno lost both starting tackles very first game last season, and lost the guards. They had to bring in Jason Peters who is the same age as me. This team is ready to surprise people.

Lucas is going to depend on his knee, what the doctors have told them about his condition. Only the team knows that and since Hawks haven't done anything means that he should be good to go.

Let me give a couple reasons why they should give Sam some opportunities(on a very short leash that is). Geno has one maybe two more seasons left max. We need to think about the future for QB. Sam is still very young being 24, the same age as penix and has experience starting in the league which mind you he put up a lot of yards with a very lack luster oline and receiving core in Washington. In college Sam was projected to go number 1 overall at one point. He had the potential there and I could very well see him going off on this offense in Grubb’s scheme and all the weapons that we have. We need to give him opportunities to actually see if he could be our future QB and if he doesn’t cut it we know to go after someone through the draft. But I really don’t see Schneider picking him up to just back up an aging QB.

@@jeremyestrill1764 good for you my guy. We’re talking about a replacement for Geno Smith, not Patrick Mahomes. It’d be a different story if we had a younger proven QB but we don’t. And news flash for you, Sam had more passing yards than Geno this last season with arguably a worse line and definitely a worse receiving core. You have a better solution I’m all ears. But as I said, if he is given the opportunity it should be on a short leash and if he fails they need to start looking at next years draft class.

He’s got 1 maybe 2 more seasons and we’d be dumb to not give Sam a chance to prove he can be the starter. Geno hasn't even thrown 21 int's in 2 years, and Howell did that in 1 season. He's definitely not ready to start at all. I'm not saying he won't be ready to start in 2-3yrs, but if we plan to start Howell over Geno, then we're basically throwing in the towel on the 2024 season!
