"Seal Kindergarten Gang" Watches Rescue

Жыл бұрынHow much time did the seal have left? A few weeks? Maybe a few months? We cannot answer that question, but we know that her entanglement would have killed two seals: her and her dependent pup. A whole "kindergarten seal gang" approaches us during the rescue; maybe her baby is among them. Hopefully, all youngsters will observe us while we rescue our first pup for the year. They need to learn that they should NEVER play with fishing lines! 🦭

Can't tell me that animals don't have feelings. A mom crying for her pup, and him signalling back, and the entangled seal relaxing when it realizes what the humans are doing for them. Thank you guys for helping them.

Exactly this! She might of relaxed as the pup call wasn't signaling danger or anything, the pups approaching were just confused and curious, with her baby not in any danger she could relax a bit.

Animals have souls and I'll never be convinced otherwise. Any creature that can feel love, joy, excitement, anxiety, and fear has a soul. You can see it throughout these videos the OCN crew produce, all of the aforementioned emotions.

I can't sleep if even a little pressure from my bed sheets is on my throat. I cannot imagine what it must be like to be constantly strangled. These people are doing such wonderful things. It makes me so happy to see them in action

i live in minnesota usa.far inland and no seals of course.i did my heart good to not only see the rescue but the huge army? pod? living wild and free.

@@wetcanoedogs Pod works, but also herd, bob(???), and rookery. There's also harem, since groups of seals are comprised of one male and a few females although those smaller groups make up the larger herd, which is probably what you were referring to lol.

Looks like the kindergarten class went on a field trip. “and to the left we have a pack of OCN’s They are very helpful to seals. Mrs Pinniped and Joey are volunteering to show us what they do” “Amazing” “neat, now where’s the beach, we want to go swimming!”🦭🌊😅

What a picture! The babies! ❤ The ones who aren't' so scared, have to realize something, when they get caught with line, and leave without it. Especially one like her, when she couldn't breath good. Wouldn't it be nice if they saw you and all lined up, waiting their turn? If I could paint, or draw, I'd do it, name it, "One Dream" and send it to you. Next to it would hang another, titled "End Dream", with baby to adult seals all around, with no entanglements, playing in the water, lounging on the beach. "Impossible Dream", but dreaming is free. Wish I could paint....

It is incredible that even over 30 years ago this issue was known about and yet it has taken so long for understanding and awareness to take place…however people need to be educated about their life practices in order to alleviate this terrible suffering! 😌🙏😍 bless you guys for the work you do 👍

A terrible thing seals are forced to live with, because of the carelessness of too many people that don't care. Thank you always for the great work you all do to save every seal, and to bring attention to the problems that people are causing to the waters. Thank you very much 👍👍

Amazing rescue although heartbreaking that such a young pup had already become entangled 😢 I love that first big breath the seals can take when the line choking them is cut free, and how relaxed she was while you worked, she definitely seemed to know that you were there to help and that she needed your help. What a great lesson for the pup spectator group; they got to see you helping their Auntie as well as one of their playmates, something that they might remember if they encounter you, and need your help, when they are older (maybe wishful thinking hoping that all of those pups can reach adulthood before being caught in any of the hazards waiting to entangle them in the sea 🤞). Great work, as always 🙏🏻

With the demand for seafood, we know commercial fishing won't stop, but what is the best recommendation you all can give to the fishing industry as well as consumers to help reduce the amount of plastics in the ocean and reduce the impact on the seals?

The pups are always so cute, and saving a mother seal is so wonderful. If the pups are still feeding off their mothers it is a two-for-one lifesaving experience!

Good job to all your rescuers and it's nice to see that the seals might be solely accepting you and realizing that you're trying to help them and not hurt them.
