If you are a law abiding American and are watching this video because you're interested in learning this skill to protect and defend your liberty, or you just want take some really impressive long range shots... then look up TiborasaurusRex's Sniper 101 series, nothing else on the net comes close to the amount of information he shares.

I don't know...He's great from what I saw, but I love what I've been seeing lately from former SOTIC instructors who have their own shops here on the SC/GA border region. There are guys that even surpass that 101 series by a good bit...Especially former Unit guys who just recently ret. They've got a much more fresh perspective on this, not to mention countering the skillsets used by the bad guys...Just astonishing to me.

Look up Ethan Place (he was on the History Channel, but I'd heard about him from a friend in MARSOC a looong time ago) and he made headshots at the distances you are talking about, and he also hit multiple unknown dist targets at a full sprint more than 600+m away in Fallujah...Without breaking a sweat. He was a bad, bad man lol. Then I saw that History doc and I jumped up cheering....I was like "finally!!! someone knows who that dude is!". He was a great, great asset and what he could do on a bolt gun (an M40A3 was it? can't remember) without waiting for his spotter to call everything out impressed me big time.
@jsocdelta827 жыл бұрын
***** Yep....every long gun cert course I had to take taught it first thing (leading targets, I mean). 246 yards without an optic isn't too bad. I prefer optics, thought i still can nearly do 300 without, it's rare. I have a basic 1-4X red dot and that way, I can drill a buck or hog at *easily* 600m. That new .300 Blk is also a good round...Slow, but you got a TINY bit of reach but not a lot. Better for cans (suppressors) on your long gun, I think, or at least that's how I've seen them pitching it along w/ knockdown power. Got a friend in the service who works in the SOF community who says a very few amount of guys brought .300 (some even 6.8SPC for these LWRCIs they had) now that they went into private security in N.Iraq and elsewere.

Hate and negativity is the easy route you're the majority how about taking the harder route to happiness, peace and success for once in your life and become the minority.

youre not a troll bud... you are what i refer to as a youtube warrior, what was your excuse of not signing up for buds? why are you carrying around so much hate that you project your own insecurities on other people? your either 16 and if ur notbeating off to porn you are typing in "seal" or "devgru" into search engines and saying oh man i wish i could play soldier. OR you are 35 and youre so pissed off at yourself that you didnt make something of your life... bc u sat around making excuses for urself instead of working for what you wanted but of course you didnt have to bc mommy was always there to help you... and btw i dont really give a shit what his mos was... the man is a veteran and he deserves your respect u sorry piece of shit. and dont try to throw how u served in the armed forces at me bc you can sell that bullshit somewhere else. if you were a soldier you have a little bit more respect. or maybe you are just a chickenshit internet troll who would never say what you just typed to someones face bc they would do what i would do... and thats beat some fucking respect into your little punk ass. that has to be the reason u talk to people that way no matter how old you are bc where im from if you said those things to some folks i know... they would swatted you across the mouth with a baseball bat. So no matter how old you are, you need to grow the fuck up and learn to have a little respect u sorry piece of shit... ok u go back to ur chicks with dicks website... im through with you... take care sweetheart.

Well given intimate knowledge of the subject of sniping, the job itself is pretty stagnant. The US still uses the .308 (7.62X51mm) M118LR 175gr bullet, so essentially with all of the tacticool gear out there these days, one can learn rather quickly. Even though if you pay attention the M-16A1 / M-24 rifles are reminiscent of the early 1990's or early 1980's, the knowledge and information really hasn't changed. Doctrine has changed per specific military branch, but that's due to the applicability in Iraq and Afghanistan. Weapons now utilized have been upgraded to the .300 WinMag (Navy/Army Mk13 Mod 5) which is a .308 bullet with more ass behind it. Still the basics here. Shooting precision weapons is a perishable skill, yet cant be learned quickly. (USMC/Ret)

Back then they didn't have the good sense to have both a mil reticle and Mil adjusting turrets on the same platform....The scopes had Mil Dot Reticles but with Moa adjustment turrets....about 20 years later someone decided Hey, I'll bet a Mil/Mil platform would be easier to translate in ones head. Also most were used to using moa adjustments since we use inches here in the US Most translate 1 MOA as 1 Inch and were reluctant to switch from what they knew. I still know SWAT guys who will not go to a MIL/MIL scope system because they are used to using MOA...even though they like a MIL reticle for range estimation and holdovers.

Here's my dilemma, i also want to be a sniper but i dont know if snipers use water to approach a land target, i would suspect that snipers would also use sea or air to infiltrate their target as they have to do whatever they're seal team does but snipers are normally the first ones there. please help me out.

that's not what a radian is, his drawing is extremely in accurate at 12:45.a radian is the angle between the start and stop point on the ARC-LENGTH that is equal to the radius. in other words if the radius is 1 meter, if you trace along the circumference (not a straight line) for 1 meter, the angle made by the center of the circle, the start, and the end of the traced segment of the circumference, that is 1 radian. Pi is important because the radius times 3.1415... is equal to half way around the circle. Geometry 101 the full circumference is equal to 2 time Pi (C=2 x 3.1415...). I only say this because i shoot up to 1200 meters and his calculation on paper will make you miss by about 3 meters (10 feet) at that range.

if I were to guess, you probably have to go enlist in to the navy, sign up for bud/s, and pass and maintain the physical qualifications for bud/s. Then, if you happen to be part of the 10% (or less) that makes the cut, then you have to make it past SQT (which wipes out another 15%), then you train with your teams, and you could possibly make a request to get to sniper school (if your request is accepted)

That bullet drop can't be the same on all caliber s and velocities can it?
@drd19244 жыл бұрын
Since gravity is a constant all things fall at the same rate. The variable is time of flight. = Depends on how long the projectile has been in the air falling as to how far its drop is at a certain distance... this determines its trajectory. So no, all other things being equal such as the same bullet, if the same bullet is driven to a higher velocity a faster projectile will not have the same bullet drop as a .308 and the trajectory will be flatter.
