On any given day if you get a original vintage sealed copy of a record from the 1960’s-70’s era it’s a pretty good day. So you when I got a chance to buy a collection with this many sealed vintage records from such bands as The Pretty Things, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath David Bowie, Lou Reed and many more you can bet i was pretty happy.
This one video is just the sealed stuff.
The rest of the collection was also filled with great records and in immaculate condition. Many don’t look to have ever been played (maybe once and then Put away.). So I will be making a second video of the open stuff. It has bootlegs, UK, Japanese, German Canadian and USA OG pressings from all of the above mentioned bands plus many others. Subscribe and hit the bell icon to get notifications when I upload that second video.
If you like this kind of stuff please feel free to subscribe to the channel. It only takes a second. Link below or go to the link tree links in the bio above

West German and art pottery and Scandinavian glass. Vintage Barware. Advertising signs. Sports Cards, Comics, cast iron man cave type stuff and everything nostalgic. The weird and elegant. The funky and downright ugly. The cool stuff your parents threw away when you moved out. It’s all here

Unreal ! I am a long time thrifter, and word of mouth is the best way to score collections, hauls, records.. whatever ! Starting off with S.F. Sorrow is fantastic.. I have the repress.. Oh well ! LoL ! Enjoying seeing this haul of yours.. Cheers JT ✌

Thanks. Yes word of mouth has lead to more scores over the years than anything else. Also asking at garage sales is always a big hit!

I know I’m super late to this vid but when I seen the thumbnail I had to watch! As a vinyl collector I’d be ecstatic to find a haul like this! Amazing! There’s no way I’d leave these albums sealed unless maybe I was gonna flip them for sale but otherwise you can’t listen to a sealed record and that’s why I collect music! But that being said, I’m hesitant to buy records that have been sealed for 30 yrs as they don’t call that plastic “shrink wrap” for nothing It actually does continue to shrink potentially warping the record within But if I found these I wouldn’t hesitate to buy and listen! Great stuff! ✌️👽

Amazing! I have a bunch of factory sealed albums (some with original K-mart price tags) that I’m starting to open but I totally get why you might want to keep them sealed. Yes they’re made to listen but it’s a bit of a thrill to own something so unique! Thanks, enjoyed this video!

Fantastic haul to get all these sealed originals. My worry would be warpage due to the age of many of them, particularly where the shrink wrap is tight.

Yes it is always a concern. I have seen one or two on the past where they were not stored correctly and the shrink pulled the sleeve at the corners. Those I opened up and they were fine. These have been stored correctly for their entire lives and they are all dead strait.

I normally say that with things that are modern releases. But some Of these have been sealed for close to 50 years. I just don’t think I am the right guy to open them. Plus for %90 percent of these I already have clean original open copies. Plus the financial reality that these are worth more sealed plays into it. Frankly I can’t afford to open most of these lol.

I used to keep some of my high value modern records sealed but then had a change of heart. Especially with modern pressings (but can happen with older records as well), there can be defects, warps, skips, posters missing etc (I once bought a record that had the second center label glued over the grooves on one side and ended up returning it for a proper copy). I guess my point is, you really don't know what you have until you open i and play it. For the records that are mine, they are all opened now. There is a type of buyer that would pay the premium for the sealed (especially if they too do not intend to open it...acquiring strictly for the collectability). However, if a buyer shells out a few hundred dollars and then opens it and it's problematic, you might end up with a conflict due to buyer's remorse...and depending on which medium you're using to sell, the marketplace tends to side with the buyer. Something to think about...just one dude's opinion. Either way, what a sweet haul! EDITED: With all of those Canadian pressings featured, I also meant to add: fellow Canadian here on the outskirts of Montreal :)

I love Montreal. I lived just outside of Ottawa for a few years when I was kid. I don’t get keeping new records sealed, but a 40-50 year old sealed records is a different story for me. I just don’t know if I want to be the guy who opens it up after making it all these years sealed.

Honestly vintage sealed Records are a blessing and a bit of a curse for me. I just don’t think I can be the guy who opens something that lasted this long sealed. The only time I have opened a sealed record was when a friend gifted me a sealed 1961 Nina Simone Forbidden Fruit, that he snagged as a garage sale. He knew I was a huge fan. The catch was I had to open it and we both got to listen to it together over beers for the first play. He knew if he didn’t add that catch I would probably never had opened it. It was kinda cool giving something of that age it’s first play.

I normally do not trust still-sealed albums UNLESS there is a hype sticker or at least an original store price sticker from a well-known record store or department store. This is for the fact that there are numerous “re-seal” copies out there and you really don’t know what lies beneath, inside of the cover!
@timecapsuledunnville5133
@timecapsuledunnville5133 2 ай бұрын
I get that. Bit this comes with a decent provenance, several have hype stickers, and most are the original loose baggie style shrink, or have the small factory breather holes (reseals don’t have those )

Thanks! Great records,.... There was no such thing as PROMO e.g. DRILLHOLE,CUT CORNER ...It was a discontinued product ( Discontinued album ) which have Hole,Cut, and was made so that the dealer would not sell, or get the full price of the record for the returned record. Millions of these cut, drillholl...Records were imported to Finland and Sweden in the 70's and sold extremely cheaply...And this is a true story!!!

I worked for the BMG record label in the 1990’s and they used to cut the CD’s we have away as promo’s. It was done by one guy at the warehouse. He had worked there pre-cd when it was tapes and records only. I told Him I collected records and he told Me they did the same thing with The promo records that the sales reps gave to records stores as play copies to law sure they didn’t try to re-sell them or return them. Same thing they did with deletes. From what I understand in the 80’s that was how they did most promo stuff because it was cheaper than producing unique white label promo versions

I have MANY sealed records. In this day and age, I buy the vinyl and download the music. At this time I can only play music in the car or to a small speaker very low while I sleep. I dont sell any of my records, my wife will when I die 🤣🤣 I hate those drilled holes and cuts in records...detracts from the artwork. I have almost all of these you showed as well. Sealed Edward Bear, awesome. Zepp IV, right on. Man you have a bunch of great stuff there...I assume you're out in Dunnville, I wouldnt think you could these in Toronto that's for sure. You have to ask yourself why you holding on to a sealed 50 year old record? Are you holding it for the next generation fans to enjoy? Then by all means. Are you holding it as an investment? They can end up going both ways. If it's an album you're a big fan of, would you open and play it? Music is meant to be played and enjoyed.
