NRG-Link is a Solid Fuel link-up solution from NRG Awareness used to interlink sealed heating systems to open systems in a uniquely patented way.
The solid fuel appliance has an unobstructed primary heat-leak circuit, with an open expansion and cold feed in perfect compliance with all regulations and a sealed system is simply connected prearranged flow and return connections in the unit to draw the heat from the solid fuel appliance to the sealed system. The internal pipework comes completely insulated with pre-wired primary and secondary side pumps, a control thermostat, and a plate heat exchanger all packaged neatly in a 350 mm (H) x 320 mm(W) x 350 mm 330 mm (D) enclosure. Richard Burke from BurConn Heating and Plumbing shows how it works and how it can be installed.
Richie also goes through how the NRGZone manifold makes light work of inter-connecting high and low temperature boilers to achieve maximum efficiencies.

Great effort.

When I turn my radiator pump on the exchanger plate stops working and pressure builds to 3 bar on the prv between link and nrg zone box. Works fine when just DHW. Anyone help

Good system a lot of hard ware I my opinion more suited to commercial id say your looking at 1800 more on a standard domestic setup good vid 👍

Those who fit the NRG Link say its by far the most economical to install sealed to open gravity 'by-the-book' systems on the market. It is the only system on the market that complies with all stove manufacturers and industry regulations.

Why is the pipe thermostat to operate the pumps on the return line. Is it that you want the hot water tank to be heated first and then onto the heat exchanger circuit?

How do you prevent fouling on the open vent side of the PHEX? I only ask because, on a pumped system, I'd normally put a mag dirt separator on the inlet to a PHEX.

From my experience, fouling in open systems is almost invariably because the open vent and the cold feed are not configured correctly or the cold feed allows heated water to rise into the expansion tank resulting in rapid evaporation and refilling. An open tank of water will have evaporation but the warmer (or even hotter in many instances) the water is, the greater the problem. Many open systems are so badly designed that the expansion vent outlet and the cold feed form a circuit and the system is destroyed in no time. If an open vented system is designed correctly the expansion tank should remain cold in all normal situations and the expansion pipe should have little or no pump-related activity. You can check how well the system cold feed and expansion are operating by simply immersing the vent pipe into a glass of water while the system pump(s) are switched on and off. If the water is sucked out of the glass or air is pushed down the vent and into the water, the configuration is defective. If the system is installed correctly, there is no reason for a PHEX to foul up in a reasonable time. All PHEX units require maintenance so the trick is always to follow the common sense guide of prevention being better than cure.

Would this work on heat pumps

Most of the installations of NRG Zones are on Heat Pump Systems, they work very well.

What an absolute overkill and would cost the customer a small fortune to have installed. There are much simpler and cheaper link ups than that

WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS, what happens if the power is interrupted does it remain safe, what's wrong with a multifuel water cylinder or multifuel Thermal store.

It would still be safe because the uncontrolled side is open vented. The reason the pump doesn't come on until 56 degrees is to stop condensation in the log burner from the return being too cool.
