In this video, I demonstrate how to seam CO and BO stitches, which is a bit different than seaming side edges.
You can see all of my seaming videos here:
verypink.com/ca...
You can see all of my weaving in ends videos here:

I don't remember the name of the yarn used in the swatches - it is a bulky wool/alpaca blend.
My nail polish is by Julep, color "Charissa": refer.julep.com...

Thank you for using this color combo. The yellow swatches show stitch definition and the pink provides a good contrast. I could see the stitches well even on my phone's screen. That is not always the case when a darker yarn is used on the swatch.

Thanks for this demonstration Stacey. Looks great. I am looking for the right kind of stitch to seam up a headband in a 1 x 1 rib. The pattern calls for whip stitch so I think I can see that mattress stitch won't work because my niece won't want a visible seam on the wrong side of her headband. Will store this stitch away for when I do need it.

Great video. Very clear. My question is, I have live stitches on a piece of scrap yarn at one end and cast on stitches at the other (its the arm of a cardigan knit flat). Do you suggest I bind off the live stitches and then seam the two, or can I seam live stitches to a cast on edge?

Is the bind off edge, in a stockinette pattern, best to be stretchy bind off, or normal bind off, since it will next be seamed to the cast one row?

Hey Stacy, this doesn't really have much to do with the video but I was wondering if you would ever used a singled plied yarn in the same project with a like 3 ply? Or is this some kind of taboo?
@verypinkknits
@verypinkknits 7 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the fiber types and the project - but the fact that one yarn has more plies shouldn't make too much of a difference. Just know that the single ply yarn is likely to "fuzz out" faster then multi-plied yarn, it will probably not age as nicely as the multi-plied yarn (again, depending on the project and how you're using them).
