I want to thank my godfather for getting me interested Indiana Jones and because of that it was the first time I ever knew Sean Connery and then eventually got more interested in James Bond. My only regret is that I never got a chance to see him I would have given anything to see Sean Connery but I would never give my soul because my soul has no price it's not for sale. I've met some great people in the last two years alone people that I've seen in television people I've seen in the movies and then there were some celebrities I would have loved to have seen but some of them died I even regret never seen David Jason Frank before he died I even regret never seeing Kevin Conroy before he died he was in North Carolina last year I would have quit my job in a supermarket and go back to the convention to see him because I hated my Supermarket job I got a better job with Amazon and I have more freedom that I could ever imagine and more money than I could even dream of and the best part of it all is I can drive anywhere well maybe not everywhere but certainly I don't care where I go as long as it's safe and the only thing I would make me happy even in the days where I have my days off just get into my car and just drive to a mall or just simply to drive to enjoy the day. Because we as humans can't be cramped inside a building all day

I've hated on Michael Bay like everyone else. I admit it! I have. But credit where credit is due, he knocked it out of the park with The Rock (which I wouldn't be surprised if Dwyane got the name from this). It's a surprisingly good film with heart, interesting characters, cliched but good action sequences, and is a good representation of the 90s. It was a glimpse into what Michael Bay could have been.

About 10 years ago I saw Claire Forlani (who played Sean Connery's daughter Jade) in public. I didn't get to talk to her. She was at the Secretary of State on official business and she was surrounded by other people I guess they were part of her Entourage. She was getting on the elevator as I was just getting off the elevator. I was there as a courier dropping off documents for a client. I looked up as I was getting out of the elevator and the first thing that stood out to me was her eyes. She has the most captivating eyes. Very beautiful woman!

2:10 When Goodspeed decides to save Mason's reputation and chances for a normal future life right in front of his own daughter. Mason just did a mess but Goodspeed thinks he anyway deserves a chance for happiness both for himself and his daughter. Goodspeed already knows Mason isn't a evil man and he deserves a new chance for that. Goodspeed doesn't know that about Mason. He infers it, based on his previous interactions with the man, and he also acted on impulse, knowing that if the government risked liberating a criminal like him then it's because they needed him, like, a lot. So he helps out

I like that at the end, Goodspeed tells Paxton and Womack that Mason was killed. Womack is incredulous but Paxton sees through the lie, and lets it pass because he understands that Mason did help disable the rockets and neutralize the threat, so he deserves freedom for the rest of his life. He's unhappy at the treatment Mason received from the American government and the FBI
@nicholaslubatinsky1002 жыл бұрын
@Tarielka Roldán Yep, that is pretty much what happened, Paxton knows how this informal FBI office politics works, Mason was a key player in that Rock operation and he felt that Mason genuinely deserved that freedom

Definitely a class act by Goodspeed. He knows time is of the essence, but still took the opportunity to help a guy out. For all we know it helped endear John to him, leading John to pulling the Han Solo that he did later in the movie, coming back instead of taking his chances and escaping properly.

I watched this movie when it came out in 1996. I was 9, I grew up LOVING this entire movie. I gave it a rest in my teens after watching it from start to finish over 50 times literally. Im 34 now as I write this and I just revisited this film after decades. This movie is SO MUCH BETTER now that I’m an adult. And this scene is perfect in explaining why. As a child I never understood the gravity of the favor Goodspeed did for Mason with his daughter. 9 year old me didn’t have the capacity to understand. As an adult this brought me to tears. Some how this movie just keeps getting better and better IMO.

I watched this so many times when I was little & now I'm lot older, you're right, it gets better every time & understand more his character as a short-moment father figure. The flute, the camera angle, Goodspeed's face sympathetic emotions for Mason & his daughter; it was all so perfect. I'm not a father of any but I can understand & felt deeply when he said "I'm not an evil man. If you believe that, it's a start" He's just a man with hope! He just wants to be with his daughter; get to know her maybe one day. He knows he might not make it back after today & 5 mins with her now; was like 1 week for him with her. And Goodspeed made sure of that without interrupting him or embarrassing him in front of her. My favorite scene

The exchange between Mason and his estranged daughter is such a touching sequence. Up until now, we've only seen and known Mason as the elite SAS operative who did the impossible: escaping from Alcatraz. And now that he's met his daughter Jade, he wants to give it up completely, and just be a father to her. You can't go wrong with that kind of noble sacrifice, years of service in the British military, to be a family man.
