Yeah I'd have to say they overdo it with Vex's possessiveness to try explain why she's so mean to Keyleth.

​@@hhylobates4098 Compared to the campaign they aren't actually really overdoing Vexs' jealousy she was EXTREMELY jealous in the campaign for a decent chunk of time... They are adapting it quite faithfully she was very snarky and mean and passive aggressive towards Keyleth. It's pretty campaign accurate for where we are in the show right now. The twins are extremely codependent and so she sees Keyleth as the first real threat to that dependency they have with eachother.

​@@AnxietyRat​No, she was Keyleths friend. In the show here most interactions with Keyleth are just to berate and belittle her. Why is that, when Keyleth isn't showing interest in her brother, *he* is the one catching feelings. Vexs snippy comments should be directed at him, like they often were in the campaign, instead her behaviour is appalling and she never even apologises for it. The twins dynamic and joint character arc in season one revolves around Keyleth and wether they should split from the group. It just dosent add up to the "codependant" excuse when Vax often dismisses her concerns and dosent appear reliant on her at all. Honestly to me they reversed the dynamic from the game where Vex is the outgoing social one who wants to be more connected with people and society, while Vax was the more closed off and brooding type who only needed his small close circle and didn't care for the worlds opinion. Really, its obvious when in season two the writers have to scramble in setting up the huge event of episode 3, that they neglected Vaxs side of their actual bond.

@@hhylobates4098 she eventually becomes Keyleths friend but she absolutely was not her friend when Vax was starting to show feelings for her... She was snippy to him and was sometimes snippy to keyleth as well. Or at least colder than she eventually becomes in the late campaign. I know what I'm talking about I'm currently doing a rewatch of campaign 1. But I do agree with you they have simplified a LOT of the relationship dynamics between a LOT of different characters in the show due to the fact that they just do not have time to go more in depth and fully explore the relationship that the characters had with each other in the campaign. It sucks. But it's what has to be done in a severely truncated adaptation. I think the writers are doing the best that they can with the material that they have to work with. They have to truncate SO MUCH shit to make the animated adaptation work... And some changes flow better than other changes. Do I think it's a perfect adaptation? No, but it's literally the best that we're going to get. 🤷‍♀️ And honestly no adaptation is ever perfect. They're always changes and some changes suck but other changes are okay. I think the majority of the time they are getting the very BASIC essence of the relationships between the characters. And that's kind of all we can really hope for... is that people who have NOT seen the campaign at least get the VIBES of the relationship even if they don't get all of the context that we who have watched the campaign do have because we've seen those relationships build in front of our own eyes. And from what I've seen of ALL of the people who have watched this animated show and have not watched the campaign is that they ARE pretty much getting the vibes of the relationships.

From what I can recall, Sam Riegel (Scanlan) was the dialogue director on a Ducktales reboot, which had David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck. And yeah, I think they bumped into each other later and Sam asked if he wanted join Vox Machina basically
