I like how these guys were at each other's throats and in the end, they became begrudging friends. I like to think they went into business together and made a fortune, but always kept an eye on the other guy.

Baltimore was once a great place to live with neighborhoods that were beautiful, quiet, and safe. Hard to believe, right?

The affluence is evident in this movie. Baltimore was an aging city like everything else.

I remember thinking when I first saw this in the theatre that the end was hinting at a sequel. Alas, never happened!

Might've been the first time he'd seen a Volkswagen. I suppose it's also kind of foreshadowing of the changes America would go through over the next five years. This was almost like the end of the Old West, but for the early Post-WW2 era. "The 60s," as in Vietnam, the counterculture and so on, were around the corner.

Great movie..my friend..sold aluminum siding..he would call his wife pretending he was talking to the boss about giving people special deals..she would just put down the phone and let him spin his tales..just like this brilliant..film.

well these days its not just the government - and relatively far less the government than it was in those days - considering how much privacy is relinquished to private companies in order to use and access tech.
