Searching for Red Stags in the Backcountry - New Zealand Public Land Hunting 2020

For this trip we head out the day our New Zealand Covid lockdown ends to get back out there exploring the mountains. Our aim for the trip was to find our mate Aidan his first Red Stag, a Chamois Buck or some meat for the freezer. Watch along as we backpack into remote catchments of the Southern Alps hunting along open beautiful tussock tops.

You can't beat a good backpacking trip, the walk definitely adds to the experience. Can't wait for a bit of snowmelt and some longer days!

Chrispys Kiwi Adventures We didn't take him. We wouldn't of got dropped there if we had seen their tent so close, it was our 4th option the hills were alive with people those first few days after lock down

South Island Rifle Walkers Put the glass over a good number, but that 10 was by far the best we could find as well hope he makes a few more years could be a ripper! Took a meat animal each so was a bloody good trip after being locked up for the best of the roar. Loving your vids you guys most definitely put the hard yards in.

Hey mate, we're thinking of doing a gear run through at some stage in the future. For the meanwhile I'd suggest going to your local hunting store and they'll see you right. Don't skimp on the boots, you'll appreciate a good pair!
