new sub here. Currently I am carrying the Olight warrior mini2 with the tail switch set on turbo/strobe. On the BSS light if you like it take a look at the thrunite TN12 pro and the Wurkkos fc12. the TN12 pro offers 1900 lumens and 45,000 candela offers a very good mix of edc and tactical.

Hey buddy, you've got a frickin' sweet collection of torches. I especially like tactical torches, for me the perfect tactical torch must have a straight to strobe and a fairly aggressive beezle, that looks like a cookie cutter, but hey that's me. I also buy most of my torches from the LiteShop, just FYI. Respect from Melbourne take care = )

You should consider the nextorch TA30C and TA30C MAX...in MY opinion they have the absolutely best UI for a tactical flashlight. Greetings from Germany!

Hi Michael, I live in the uk and have tried hard for months to get hold of the Weltool 2tac based on your recommendation, but have been able to due to various reasons, but primarily location. Can you please recommend two alternatives that are just as great for self-defence, that i may be able to get hold of a little easier. I still know too little to make a confident purchase and I'd fee far less anxious if I was able to own a tactical torch that I could keep on me. Thanks a lot. And thanks for taking the time to post all the content.

Thanks for all the reviews mate, it helped me a lot to find the perfect flashlight for me. I totally agree with you, I got the olight warrior S3 its a great light but somehow i think it has akward charging for edc, it only takes olight batteries which is a let down and no CR123 and you need the magnetic cable or a propper Lion charger, i think this would make for a perfect in the car utility light where you have it in your glove box with the magnetic snap on USB A, or you could have it next to your bed always charged, but you need the cable if you lose it or its broken you have a bit of a problem. Weltool has the better refectors in my eyes, and you can use a acebeam 18650 with USB C which is really nice for EDC. At the moment i have the T19 next to my bed because i like the 25lm low mode for night time. But for outdoor self defense or checking something out on the property the LH8 shines becasue of the awesome throw. The T19 is also a nice utility light for edc very useable great colour redition easy on the eyes, great for camping too. Again with the acebeam USB C 18650 easy to charge with a powerbank no extra cable needed.

I've actually gone down the same journey as you with lights, basically looking for the same thing. The solution is hands down, no doubt about it, to carry 2 lights, but not like you are thinking. With how far technology has come, you don't need to resort to an 18650, 18350, or 14500 size light taking up more pocket space to have a good edc light. My edc light for close-up tasks is a prometheus beta. It's absolutely tiny, so it adds 0 bulk to my keychain. It has a beautiful high cri beam. It puts out plenty of lumens for any admin task I might need to complete in the dark (I literally used it to hold in my mouth to see to finish concrete when I ran out of daylight and still had to put the final edges on a wall). It has a quick release attachment, so all I have to do is pull on it to separate it from my keys, and because it's attached to my keys, it is always with me. It works way better for the typical edc tasks than any high candela cool emitter light ever could, and because I don't have to have my self-defense/ distance light double as a close-up admin light I don't have to sacrifice any characteristics to get it to compromise and fill different roles that require characteristics that are opposed to one another. I was weary of the idea at first because I didn't want to be the guy with a million unnecessary things on me and if technology required me to carry multiple lights clipped to my pockets I would still be looking for the same things you are. Thankfully technology has come so far you don't need a light any bigger than a house key to accomplish all of your edc tasks.

You're a legend mate. Thanks for that detailed account of what you do. And funny thing is, I have plenty of keychain lights. I'd be silly not to use one as an edc light. Cheers brother. I hope you continue to watch my channel and the videos. I've got some ripper lights coming up. Take care mate. Thanks again

If you're okay with another brand, recently i got collaboration from Nextorch, their TA30C is perfect for a tactical flashlight. Low profile design, no hassle UI. For now my primary EDC-Tac is Acebeam P16 and Nextorch TA30C. Good luck with your channel, subbed! 🔦

Hi mate. I like the long form video format. I recently bought the Acebeam P18. Really nice but you may not like it as it is 21700 and therefore heavier and the head is larger. It does have good candela though and is beautifully built. I think of all the brands I own Acebeam is my favourite. I just bought an X75 :)
@flashlightcrazy

Wow X75 is nice. I am reviewing that one soon. Yes, the P18 is a nice light. You're right, it's a bit big for me, but an amazing piece of technology.

Used to have an Olight warrior m2r pro as an EDC, but the Weltool lh1 has proven superior for its raw candela. I suppose it depends on how far away you want to beam someone in the face. From an arms length, candela doesn't matter as much as raw lumens, but if you want to drive trespassers away or keep your distance, the candela is where it's at. Also used to carry an LEP, but as you noted, they are just not versatile enough. Love your videos, especially the Weltool reviews, keep it up man. PS: I think Nitecore makes a tactical flashlight, the MH12SE, with 40k candela and 1800 lumens.
@flashlightcrazy
@flashlightcrazy Жыл бұрын
Thanks Nick. I have a video on the MH12SE comparing it with its younger brother the MH12S. I agree, it depends on how far you need to protect yourself from. But some lights would be a little more impressive as a self-defence tool if they came with 5-10 thousand more candela. Just for that extra bit of intensity. The LH1 head is one of my favourites! Thanks for watching

I just took delivery of the nitecore P23i.... I urge you to get it. Perfect size hotspot. blisteringly powerful and instant strobe ready mode switch all one handed operation. Bit pricey at 107 UK Sterling but well worth the extra money.

Ahh I resonate with this so much. Same journey I've been on, but i am also picky about pwm, ultra low lumen modes, etc etc. I just bought the thrunite bss off marketplace a few hours before watching this (off you maybe? Lol) and came to the same conclusion, it is probably not quite enough candela to fully satisfy me. We should band together to design and release the perfect defensive/edc flashlight. M2r pro is probably the closest ive found but it turns on at bad times and burns things 😣 ...sigh!
@flashlightcrazy
@flashlightcrazy Жыл бұрын
I hear you man! It is a difficult journey but a very enjoyable one. So far I have found that carrying two is the way to go. A weltool specifically for self defence, and then a Acebeam pokelit or Olight baton or I5r or weltool t13g to have as the edc usage. I prefer the warrior 3 over the M2R because it has more lumens and candela. But it’s still a 21700 which I don’t like to carry on me due to weight and size.
@flashlightcrazy
@flashlightcrazy Жыл бұрын
The Thrunite BSS is a really good light. It’s the closest to perfect I’ve found so far. Yeah the candela isn’t where I’d like it to be, it you’ll be very happy with the light output it gives. I was pleasantly surprised when I took it out for night shots. And when I put it up against the Acebeam t36

The more I get into flashlights and own, the more I do not like flashlights with hot spots and long range throw!! If you are outside at night do you really need something that shines 500 meters to be aware of what's around you? Or are you more worried about situational awareness which I am starting to believe is way more important!! If you have a flashlight with a concentrated hot spot then all you can see is the hot spot and not much else!! This is why I am starting to think flashlights with a wide flood are way more practical for daily use!!
@flashlightcrazy
@flashlightcrazy Жыл бұрын
Nice one mate! Love the thinking there. For me, a hotspot is a must. Not only does it deliver more light intensity to a would-be attacker, but with the right amount of spill, you have the best of both worlds. I prefer to see at a distance than only rely on my immediate surroundings. That being said, I love that you are finding the beauty in more floody lights. I certainly notice a difference in my ability to see more when I use a flood light instead of a spot and spill light. Cheers mate. Keep the comments comings. I love hearing how other people use their lights
