In this video i continue on the rebuild of my 1,4 Renault 5 GT Turbo engine.
I set out to resemble the cylinder head, lap ind the valves and refit springs and so on- But It doesn´t go completely to plan.
Its nice to be back working on the hot hatch legend again! cant wait to get the boost flowing though this head!

I absolutely hate lapping valves; the suckers on the lapping stick always slip off because my technique is so bad! Another really enjoyable video, keep them coming!

That's weird. On a B230 engine, the valve stem seals just sit on the stem and move up and down with the valve. The stems do need oil or they will wear out. How would they get oil if you seal it off completely?

Too bad that Corona is blocking the progress. Can’t wait too see the R5 running once again. How did you learn your skills? I would love to restore a nice youngtimer but lack a lot off skills myself.

Yea its annoying... but luckily its just materials... I am lucky to not be affected more by it. And I am also lucky that i have many other projects! I learned everything i know by trail and error- KZfaq, forums has been a great help.. I found out that tinkering and fixing stuff is almost therapeutic for me, and I could not be without it! therefore its not the success that drives me but the experience... so trial and error and repeat.. ;)
