This is episode 1 of season 1 in H2O - Just add water!
Rikki Chadwick, Emma Gilbert, and Cleo Sertori are three teenage Australian girls who find themselves stranded on the mysterious Mako Island, where they end up in a pool under a dormant volcano just as a full moon passes above them, bathing the pool in light. The girls are rescued and brought back to shore, where they return to their normal lives, until discovering their lives have become anything but normal. The girls find out that ten seconds after coming into contact with water they transform into mermaids. After further experimentation, the girls also discover they have supernatural powers over water.

H2O - Just add water is about three teenage girls who can transform into mermaids.😮
After a night bath in a lake, everything is different and as soon as Cleo, Emma and Rikki come in contact with water, they transform and get a mermaid tail. After further experimentation, the girls also discover they have supernatural powers over water like boiling or freezing water. They try to keep their secret from everyone else which makes their everyday life anything but simple. 🧜‍♀️🌊

I'm in my early 20s and sometimes re-watch this series because it really reminded me of how I used to be more adventurous and sociable as teen. God, I was obsessed with mermaids and marine aesthetics. Also, the idea of being stranded on an island with my best friends and trying to find our way back to the mainland using survivalist and supernatural means was a big brain thing I had thanks to this show and Cast Away.

This show was my entire childhood!!! As soon as I heard the dang theme song I instantly remembered every single word and got up and danced around in front of my mom :’) Goodness they made me want to be a mermaid so freaking bad when I was younger (and still today as a 21 year old i’ll be honest loll) but this show was my everything. I even taught myself how to swim like a mermaid just like them, but now it’s literally the only way I know how to swim so I dunno if that’s good or not but oh well sksks. But my goodness I missed this show! I started rewatching again and the instant happiness and comfort I got was just too good :’) This show will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart💕🧜🏼‍♀️🌊🐚

Not to point out the obvious but Ricky is heat and is wearing red, Emma is ice and has on blue, and Cleo is a luke bender like a balance and she’s wearing purple and purple is a combination of red and blue. The symbolism was there from this early on.

I watched this my freshman year of college and I've never forgotten how much I really liked this series, even as a young adult. Now, I'm letting my 6 year old watch it with me! Rikki is still my favorite character, glad to know I haven't changed too much!

When I was visiting a friend recently she put this show on for her kid, but in the end we were both completely engrossed in watching as well. A good few shows I watched as a kid didn't really hold up, but I'm actually unironically going to rewatch this because I enjoyed it so much
