On the 13th April 2021 a massive 4000 ton chunk of the Jurassic Coast Cliffs at Seatown in Dorset collapsed onto the beach and into the sea. I hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.

Seen a few tears in the making when walking the tops of them cliffs a few metres away from the edges, yet people still risk all by walking near the edge. Best viewd from a safe distance. Great views.

That was a significant landslide, showing that it is always dangerous to walk along such steep shorelines. Great shots, my friend. The colour of the water looks amazing.👏👍

Rising sea levels will take that extra sea front in the next decade or 2. Southern England is still sinking into the sea ever so slightly too.

Behind the cliffs, about a mile inland, I can see the house we lived in 50 years ago, behind Broadmead, Chideock. I had some hairy experiences rescuing folk who decided that parts of these cliffs could be climbed. Whilst they complained about the "Lack of warning signs", they very often shut up when I described how these cliffs constantly moved, and fell into the sea - taking the warning signs down hundreds of feet. How more people have not been lost in these sudden falls is a wonder. Beautiful, but dangerous landscape...the whole of the Jurrassic Coast. Be warned!

This is how the land bridge joining England and France broke up 10,000 years ago. Crumbling cliffs and erosion nibbled away at the isthmus until Great Briton became an island.

Thank you.. yeah it was a massive collapse 300m long and 4000 tonnes.. the sea will wash most of it away in time and just leave the large boulders..

Whatever , but there isn't a place called Seatown. There's Seaton, so looks to me this Is just another click bait crap
@louisekenney22572 жыл бұрын
@@TheNemocharlie I think you'll find you are incorrect, it maybe worth you doing some research as Seatown is indeed near Bridport in Dorset and Seaton is near Beer in East Devon. So before commenting I would suggest you check your facts! Many thanks!

Nice footage! I wonder how long it takes for that kind of debris to wash away again, like it has along the rest of the cliffs there.

Just wondering if you filmed that this morning as it looks like more material has fell on the ledge where I filmed the trapped sheep yesterday poor things , great video
@jldronepics15933 жыл бұрын
Thank you, yes this was this morning. Although we don't think more has fallen although it is likely that it will when we have more rain. We didn't see any sheep today so hopefully they've already been rescued 👍
