Thank You ! Nope, we planned everything ourselves. We rode with our rental car to the top, hiked the Gorge Samaria, and had tickets for the ferry and bus already bough a day or two in advance. 😄

The hike starts from the gate when parking in Xyloskalo (top of the mountains) and You go along the hiking trail all the way to the sea. Whole trip from parking at the top, to parking again, took us from 8am to 8pm (counting the ferry and bus) We drove to the parking at the top.

Thank You ! Chania is good if You rent a car 😄 or if You book a tour from what I heard. Overall Chania is perfect for western Crete, it's not too far from each main location that You might want to see 😄

Crete definitely is beautiful! Which region of it have You been to ? (Or maybe You've been everywhere on Crete ?) We only got to see the western side but it was incredible. If You don't mind me asking, the "blame Greta Thunberg for it" part has intrigued me ! Why is that?

@@SebastianDylag Sorry for my late reply. Well, I suppose you know Greta Thunberg (who doesn't know her?). Ever since she gave her first speech, at the age of 15, strongly reprimanding the world leaders for not taking the necessary climate action, she impressed me very much. She also made me realize (listening to her other speeches as well - and now after having read her "Climate Book") how urgent the climate crisis is and how we are betrayed by our world leaders who want us to believe that they are doing what is necessary to ensure our safety. Of course, she is the first to admit it, individual actions are not enough to avert the danger, but nevertheless, they are a necessary part of the solution. One of the most important things an individual can do, is stop flying, at least if flying is not absolutely necessary. That's why I don't fly anymore and why Greta Thunberg is to "blame".

First of all you must to know, much more respect when you visited ortodox monester. You should'nt go in short trousers, it's not OK.....
