The Pioneer train is the bigger of Knoebels' two miniature trains, the other being Ole Smokey in the Kiddieland section of the park. Pioneer runs up to two steam and two diesel trains that take guests on a journey from a station on the main boulevard out into the woods and back on an elongated loop. Along the way, one travels around the back side of Crystal Pool, passes under the Crystal Slides, then through Twister's wooden structure, then a set of tunnels under the road connecting the campground to the park, and then finally enters the forest for a bit, before turning around to make the return journey back to the depot.
