You ever notice how the relic never acted up while Songbird was on it? Hell, she even cleared up the blurry part for us. Arasaka wasn’t telling us everything about it

There’s secret dialogue with Alt if you do the “help Reed” side of things in Phantom Liberty. She references the Erebus/Canto mk 6, calling it “a weapon to you, to them a back door”.

Regardless of ending Songbird ends up being corrupted by Blackwall AI. Even if she dies the FIB takes her body and is going to prod it. Dead or alive, escape the FIB or not, i really think they set Songbird up to eventually cause the fall of the blackwall and my guess is that's what the sequel will focus on. Songbird really is the bomb that will cause the fall.

People kind of forget Myers made her do it and used her for that purpose.

The more I think about it, the more I felt like killing So Mi was the better ending, yeah sure you killed her but think about it this way, she went through and got infected by the blackwall, you also saw her fighting against another version of herself or maybe another AI as it tries to take control of her, when you take Reed's route instead of her, also in the words of VDB netrunner Slider, she was quoted as being a "walking time bomb that will screw everyone over if not dealt with immediately" so if she got to the moon, she could have easily doomed more people and perhaps even humanity in the process, she was too dangerous to be left alive. In the end, freeing the bird could have also meant letting loose another invasive species to ravage the ecosystem, it was a hard choice from the get go but she had to be removed, for her sake as well.

It's not the PL endings but getting access to the relic tree that triggers this extra dialog

I always questioned why everyone thought helping and freeing Songbird was the “good ending” when in the whole scale and ramifications of it all she is a MASSIVE threat to not only herself and you V but everyone. Let alone the fact she may end up being used by assuminhly Mr Blue eyes and we don’t even know his intent. Songbird is literally going to get used like she has in the past. Either by the AI or anyone else who gets their hands on her.

You know a game has great storytelling when people keep discussing choices, make up theories, and hypothetise what could have have happened. And i agree. The mystery of the blackwall plot is intriquing as hell, probably one of the most interesting things in game to me. Hope that i will be explored sometime in future, while still having mysteries.

I had this line even before I started anything with Phantom Liberty, I think It's not connected to the DLC but VoodoBoys mission in pacifica where you get to the BlackWall with Brigette and other Netrunners

Everyone arguing if SB is too dangerous to be alive, and if we are unleashing rogue ai's is overlooking that V's situation is nearly identical. The relic is a backdoor. V is by the end of this actually a copy of V like Johnny is a copy of Johnny. Somi and whatever is potentially in her was also in the relic. V is just as dangerous as Songbird because of the "unknown" factor attached to both of them. No way of knowing exactly what Alt did either, but for some reason she preferred V to stay with her and let Johnny free. I doubt it's just to keep him from dying, she doesn't value life.
