We hiked up a river, climbed over some boulders and found a deserted swimming spot. Unfortunately I promised my friends I wouldn't share their secret spot publicly. But it really was great to get out there and swim in the river.
Don't worry, no animals were harmed and we hiked out with all of our trash.
If you are considering a move to Puerto Rico I'd love to hear more about you plans. If you live in San Juan or elsewhere on the Island I'd love to hear about your experience. I really want to do this and I plan to move sometime in the next year.

I know el Yunque very well. I lived in PR for 20 years since I was 11 to 32. Growing up in PR we did camping at el Yunque. Walked many of the hiking trails and went swimming in most of the little creeks and swimming holes! It’s a beautiful place that brings back great memories! Enjoy beautiful Puerto Rico and it’s beautiful friendly people.

It's a beautiful place. So happy that I went there this weekend and now I think I'm going to try to go at least a couple times a month

Glad you enjoyed but let me give you a bit of advice so you don't run into troubles, in any river here but specially in the Yunque you should be very careful cause you can get swept away by a sudden river flood, always check weather conditions and if you start to hear a roar like rain is coming but louder and the water color starts to change get out of the water immediately. Plenty of tourists had drowned on El Yunque for that specially in the back of the mountain.

Yes, we ended up leaving earlier than we wanted because we were starting to see signs of the water level rising
