Great channel Kelly. Black "fuse" is a diode, allows current to flow one direction and not back feed the opposite direction. They need to be reseated in the same direction (arrow pointing to the front of the machine in this case) to function properly.

Great videos they have helped me a ton. On a Johne Deere 335e can you tell me where to find a diagram of where all the linkage and springs go on the carburetor?

Thanks so much for the kind words.. I usually look up a mower on the manufacturers website for diagrams or I check out parts tree website.. but in this case your in luck.. I noticed when I was shopping for a new zero turn that the John Deere was a lighter built mower with lesser quality engines for a higher price. The frame on these looks like it was built from matchsticks compared to other mowers. Also, I’m not paying $4500 for a stamped deck and rebranded Briggs Intek.

I agree 100% .. I personally would never buy a box store mower new.. the cub cadets are beefy but the deere feels like cardboard. Glad this one was free

Hey Kelly I’m new to your channel. I have a z335e and just notice the steering levers are loose. Wondering if you know how to tighten them up. Thanks for your videos what I have seen so far.

Hi and thanks so much for subscribing. I am assuming you don't mean the 2 bolts on the arm for adjusting the bar location.. but if you stand above the bar and look down inside the hole you will see a bolt that goes through the cross member .. that can come loose you just tighten with a box wrench.. then up underneath the plastic is an adjustable bar that connects to the bottom of the steering arm straight back to the hydro pump .. both ends of that bar should be able to be tightened but unfortunately you have to remove the black plastic deck to do it. I am glad you brought this up cause I am always looking at doing videos on parts I haven't touched on in videos.. I will film taking it all apart on Friday and post the video on Saturday morning at 10am .. ( my regular post time) and if you wait til then I will show you all of the points of contact and how they work, plus how to tighten or adjust. Thanks my friend

Something crazy is going on.. yesterday was my best day so far at 180 new subs in 1 day and today at 1pm I'm already up 110. At this rate I'll reach 10,000 by halloween.. better step up my game

Kelly, can you weigh in on something for me. OxGard vs. Dielectric grease? First do you use either, and do you use them on the contacts or just on the plastic connectors? I've had no problems power washing machines with little thought of causing electrical problems. Lucky maybe, but I am now thinking of treating the contacts/connectors to ward off any future problems. Thanks!

That's a good question. Here in Florida we have so much humidity that condensation causes large amounts of water in our gas tanks unless kept inside and climate controlled.. I say that because rarely do I have any electrical issues caused by water including rain. The plastic Covers are designed to keep water from getting where it shouldn't be. Yes pressure washer puts water in unwanted places and causes issues however I find that giving it time to dry out makes that ok so on mowers and hand held power equipment I don't bother unless a customer asks.. now on quads, and especially outboard motors and jet skis I use Dielectric grease because of puddles, lakes and oceans. I've been using it my whole life in various forms and I'm sure there's new stuff I haven't tried yet.

@@MunkyWrench Thanks. I recently bought a tube of Ox-Gard and will experiment on less critical connections to make sure there are no undesirable side effect with the preventative paste. Lots of options out there on the benefits of such treatment.

On my Z335 front wheel spindles have no grease zerts and they are not functioning properly. Any suggestions?

They have plastic inserts between the steel of the frame and the spindle of the wheel.. u pull out the sleeve and check for wear. The get mangled easily.. they are less than $10 to replace. It will stop them wobbling and not turning correctly. If they are not worn u can pack with some grease to help.. use sand paper on the wheel spindle if there's any rust

We have a John Deere z335e that the engine seems to be surging, what do you suggest?

Hey thanks for taking the time to subscribe and reach out.. normally if the motor is surging its from a half dirty carburetor.. in many cases a good total clean with some carb cleaner and thin wire in the ports will make it stop.. occasionally using a micro drill bit to widen the jet will take care of it but a little experience is needed for that.. honestly with the low cost of carburetors these days.. I try a normal clean 1st and if that doesn't stop the surging I often replace the carb.. if u need help looking up the replacement just email me and I'll find it for u.. hope this helped.. see u soon

I have one of these and my hour meter won't run. Turns on but doesn't register any usage. Any tips on what to look at?

I would 1st make sure u don't have a bad wire connection and hour meter is simply a timer that runs on certain voktage.. they are programmed to change every 3 to 30 seconds depending on the timer setting . And they simply work when they get voltage from the key and stop counting when u turn the key off.. check all connections.. you can test voltage onto the hour meter with a multi meter it should get 10 to 12 volts. They do just go bad so if your getting good voltage I'd say the chip inside dried and it stopped counting.. just replace it.. hope this helped and thanks for stopping by and subscribing

The error code you are getting indicates that your mechanical front wheel assist speed sensor is unplugged or not working.

Thank you. I'll try to locate that. It was parked for the winter and field mice decided to make a snack of a few wires.

Briggs and Stratton engines are pure junk last 10 years or so a Kawasaki will eat a Kohler or Briggs for lunch

Everyone has their own opinion and preference, otherwise garbage companies like Kawasaki wouldn't still exist. I work on hundreds per month and Kawasaki are full of nylon and plastic parts that fail constantly so thanks for your thoughts.. they do matter.. just not to me
