I like the locking mechanism. Everybody is so used to the magnetic locks right now. I can't imagine having to stumble around for a magnet and line it up perfectly with another magnet to unlock your guns. With this you just press a board in and get your guns. This is outstanding work!

A lot of people are commenting about how you wouldn’t be able to keep anything on top. Yes, you could and should keep things on top. Just not anything particularly heavy or expensive. If you are in a situation where you need the gun, you could knock everything off the top and open it in a hurry.

The design and build are both awesome, with a few really nice quality of life additions, such as the springs to allow your to press the panel without having to lift the top of the dresser at the same time. That being said, I'd love to see these in a 2 or 3 part format, so everyone can see a bit more of what you're doing with extra time to process it. Also, although I personally don't like the pallet wood build, as it looks.. well.. trashy, I think it looks pretty decent alongside your other pallet builds

Cool video - you can cut way down on time and increase watchability by showing less of a step. For example, on your finger joints, you don't need to show all of every board. You can do one and show a stack of jointed boards and your audience is going to be smart enough to infer that you did 200 passes on the table saw without needing to see each one. Then you can focus on stuff. Great execution on a cool idea man.

I had the same complaint until a friend told me to watch it on youtube where you can adjust the speed all the way down to quarter speed...it would be much easier to follow. And he was right, it was or is. It does take much longer to watch which is probably not a problem for all you wood workers out there.

Speed has been mentioned. Here is my suggestion: when you do one thing several times, show it once, and then show the finished products of the repetition. For example: show how you make the teeth on the boards for the drawers, then show each board as it is finished adding to a "magically" growing stack. no need to show the cutting of the teeth again and again. This way you spare time that you can "invest" in showing the different tasks slower.

Thanks a lot!! KZfaq actually suggested a gun related video, I'm surprised lol! I have been working for a while on a new and greatly improved version of this dresser, website, and a new video showing it off. I may do a hardware kit & plans shortly after. It should be up sometime within 2 months with links to the website with contact info and pricing.

I would happily pay for plans for this. Rustic theme in my bedroom, so this would fit perfectly. Only tools I dont have that you used are a lathe and that mortise bit for the drill press, but I think i could get by without those.
