This short documentary about the "N2 Bunker" clarifies the many myths about this structure. The vault probably originally served as a honey cellar and was later used as an emergency storage or radio room.
Join us on a tour of the dilapidated vault.

Couldn’t they repair that?! I’m a WWII history buff and hate that so many places from that era in Germany have been destroyed or have been neglected to the point that they are beyond the point of salvaging. I realize the atrocities and am horrified by them but this is history and we cannot erase it but future generations can learn from it. Hell our generations right now could learn from it!!

The archwork holding the roof up is some kind of wonderful, imagine trying to get Builders to do that today. ..."Nah mate, needs to be steel and glass, comes in flat pack form"....ugh.

Yes, it is wonderful. Arch work when done in modem times would be poured concrete with rebar. It is not hard to do but takes more work so costs more. The cheapest to build is a square building. Rich peoples homes can have a lot of arches, different roof lines, and even a tower. In Florida, Spanish architecture was made popular which consists of arches and tiled roofs. The building will be cement block and stucco, but the arch over the doors and windows will be poured concrete and rebar. The days of brick arches and stone arches are likely over except in some kind of unique circumstance. There are competent masons that can do it but it would be time consuming and expensive. Brick is not a modem look for the most part, but there are always exceptions. Stone will never go out of style, but not commonly used as it is labor intensive, along with the cost of the stone.

Fascinating film. The whole area should have been preserved and not destroyed following the end of WWII.

It is accessible, but not to non historians. There is an access from the Tiergarten. I have seen the inside. In short, it is all rusty, cold, flooded, and damp. Not even a coin to be found. Nothing to see, everything was looted. The East Germans tried to demolish it with explosives but could not. As for where he was cremated, it is a children's play area/parking lot. Even met Rochus Misch in Berlin who was the last survivor from the bunker.

I agree with this statement. I still think the entire Nuremberg trials were just a smoke screen for the public to let the real leaders and important, flee into society.

I think Hitler was a coward ,he was able to give orders but not able to take them,if he was a man he should have been able to face the consequences of his actions instead of others doing it for him,but he's been judged since the day he died ,rest in peace to all the innocent people who died for having different beliefs in religion ,god bless them amen💟🐦💙🌈
