Thanks for this in-depth commentary on your experience! Coming from someone with big concerns on good posture and some backpain issues. I'm on the short/small size on the spectrum and definitively will make sure to take measurements to see if this chair is suitable for me. Also, glad you gave some recomendations to take care of the different materials. Great video!

Glad you found it useful and informative! This chair is a major investment. There's way too much misinformation regarding these chairs circulating, and honestly, it's the right chair for "some people" and the wrong chair "for others". I just wanted to give people some facts as to make sure they make the correct purchase for THEM.

Had mine about 2-3 years now, 10+ hours/day. 100% relate with the first few days. The chair can feel extremely firm and takes some getting used to. After about the 2 year mark, armrests started falling apart but company was happy to help replace the failing parts. Surprised the PU/leather has held up perfect, as chairs from other companies started to peel around this point.

Just set mine up. I have to say I'm liking the firmness of this chair. It's not like sitting on a slab, it's firm, but with just enough give that is comfortable. Sitting in those cushy soft chairs was doing number on me for year. The other huge surprise is the sturdiness, I cringed the first time I reclined fully and almost laid down in it. I'm 6'6 and 250lbs, it's was like that trust fall exercise you do in a support group. This chair is just on the cusp of being too small height wise for me. 20mins into sitting now... I have back pain daily. I'm feeling very good, very little pain. The lumbar is pretty nice, but I do wish it would move forward slightly more. That's about my only complaint. This is my first purchase over $200 for a gaming/computer chair. Pretty happy. Will see how it feels as I enjoy my new gaming PC....

They do sell an additional lumbar pillow that works in conjunction with the system already built into the chair. Maybe that would help you. It's made of the same materials as the Head Pillow. Glad the chair is working out for you and thanks for coming back here and posting your experience! Cheers!

It’s a pretty decent mid level gaming chair for the price. I haven’t had any more back pain since I started using it, and it has provided me ample room to move around throughout my day for work and gaming. However, I really dislike the lumbar system adjustments and bulkiness of the chair (XLs are massive gaming chairs). All in all I’d give it a 8/10, and if I could do it all over again, I would most likely save my money to put towards a HM Embody Logitech Gaming Chair 😊

I didn't notice that I watched a full 44-minute review video. The way you speak is clear and the ideas are expressed. Anyway, I watched this video for me to know the others' point of view of the said SecretLab chair. I have mine in a month now and it's true that you would think that you made a $500 mistake at first. However, after month, I can feel that the chair is very comfortable and let's you focus on whatever you are doing with the computer. I just made sure that the lumbar support is personalized to my back and it took me a week to know the sweet spot. I'm a 5' 8", 70 kg guy using a regular size Black3 Titan Evo Softweave Plus. Have you experienced your cat scratching the chair? It's because my 5 kg Persian cat has done so! Good thing I was able to remove my cat right away and the scratch is not evident. You just have to remove the paws the right way in order for the fabric not to be damaged so bad.

I have just ordered a new Titan XL softweave full black after owning a regular stealth PU leather from early 2019. (there was no XL Back then). They have gone up in price by alot i must add. I saw my old order was 399€ for the stealth and i had a discount of 55€ back then (so around 345€) that one costed me. Now this one with the Christmas discount was 590€ otherwise it was 619€ now (XL this time but still that's a big ouch). Altough it's a firmer seat and it takes time to set it in and i have checked alot of normal ergonomic chairs instead of gaming chairs was because something like a herman miller office chair is 1k+€ and the knock off ones are around 500 bucks aswell or same as the secretlabs so. but the reason i went for the secret lab again is just durability. My stealth served me so well for almost 4 years of heavy heavy use. Leather started peeling a little after 3,5 years but that's not the reason i'm getting rid of it since it was so little, but the armrest broke completely (in the bottom of the chair itself) you can't get to it, and i have not found someone with the same issue as me i can basicly push the left full armrest 90 degrees down sideways lol it's snapped of, it's hard to explain but i think it's not replace-able it'sjust hanging in there let's say all loose. So I hope this one is gonna serve me another 4 years or more aswell. Went for softweave fabric this time. Before i had secret lab, i went thru many many gaming chairs the cheap ones of around 200-300 bucks the racers and sorts even a full leather chair from some home depot but they never lasted 2 years , not a single one and they were very uncomfortable. The cheaper ones ALWAYS started failing in the poor base or the wheels snapping off or heavy leather peeling from my experience. And even the cheaper ones from back in the day that were 200-250 are now 350-450 aswell so no brainer for me was to get a titan again. it's the middle of the pack, but from expierence and durability it was a no brainer for me, even when reviewers give secretlabs a bad score. it's a personal thing, you have to experience for yourself :D
@Extermicide
@Extermicide 6 ай бұрын
Good personal review... Two things I would like to add to this... FIRST: Your broken chair arm... Take a picture of it and email SecretLab. I am 99.9% sure they will replace the part for you, and I'll bet anything it's a lot easier to replace than you think it is. They "MAY" charge you for the new arm, but then again, they might not. SECOND: Your peeling leather.... This is the exact reason I did not get a Leather chair. The Softweave just breathes a lot better. But in case you did not know, SecretLab now sells CHAIR COVERS, so it is possible for you to renew that chair with a all new look! Hope this helps - and have a great New Year!

Thanks for you video. I am also more than 50 years old. I need a chair that will be a “jack of all trades” since I do not sit for hours at a time but I also sometimes sleep in my chair with my legs raised. It is very hard to find a chair that fits the budget and keeps us comfortable. I have bought cheap gaming chairs and have given them away after less than a year of using them. I was thinking to myself, If these chairs are comfortable for at least 1 year then they may be worth it. But, you get what you pay for. You end up wanting a better chair and paying more. The Herman Miller chairs may have the best warranty, but in my country I cannot buy them at a reasonable price and there is the risk of getting a knock off. The secretlabs can be bought at an authentic store but may not be the most comfortable but at least I am sure I have bought the real product.

I used to sit in the cheap chair as well and it's definitely alot harder. But if I made my choice differently I think I would go with the Steelcase amia. @rattoh
@rattoh Жыл бұрын
I got similar issues as well so I searched for a cushion solution. These gaming chairs aren’t really great compared to reputable office brands like steelcase. Only advantage this gaming chair has is it can recline all the way back, and even then it isn’t without its flaws that are aren’t found in more expensive chairs that can do it (it raises your front legs and knees higher, which can be problematic under a keyboard or desk)
@Extermicide
@Extermicide 11 ай бұрын
I have no personal experience with the Amia to be honest. The best piece of advice that I would give ANYONE is that if you have the means to actually SIT in the actual chairs before purchase - then do so. Whatever you do, stay away from the cheap AMAZON gaming chairs.

Personally, I would go with the XL. You are of a HEIGHT that if you needed to lower the chair, you would be OK, and you are of a WEIGHT that the XL supports easily. I would go with the REGULAR sized chair if you want a "tighter fit, a chair that hugs you more", and the EXTRA LARGE sized chair if you would rather have some "wiggle room and not feel constrained". Hope this helps!

You forgot one of the most important rules about new chairs. Be sure to set it up properly to your ergonomic measurements. Do not just sit down in it and leave it as is. It is critical to adjust it your body's ergonomic measurements required setup. By doing so it will give you the full advantage of the chairs ability to support you when you are sitting. Remember never perch in you chair and hold yourself up, sitting properly and letting the chair hold you is what the chair is designed to do.

@Extermicide

I did when it was brand new. Secretlab suggests to people (to solve this) to 'EXTEND THE LOMBAR ALL THE WAY OUT', and then 'RAISE and LOWER it all the way several times' to stretch it out. This corrected the problem for me like a charm. The only thing I would keep in mind is that if your adjusting your lumbar, lean forward a little bit to get your body weight off of it while you make adjustments. If you are leaned back while making the adjustments, you will put too much pressure on the lumbar while you move it, and could damage it internally. Lean forward, adjust, lean back, see how it feels, lean forward, adjust some more, lean back, see how it feels. Take care of the chair, and it will take care of you.

Depends... If you want a bit of wiggle room, then get the XL. If you like a chair that feels tighter, then no. Im 5'10 190 - and feel the XL is a good fit for me. Im pretty sure if I was 10 lbs lighter, id still choose the XL because sometimes i like to sit on one of my legs, or if im watching a movie, i might lean more to the side with my kitty on my lap. I've also seen a video on how to repair the piston if i'm not mistaken. But yea, use your warranty brother, if you have a 2022 version of the chair there is no reason at all for your piston to be bad already (although sometimes, with anything, a LEMON will escape from the assembly line).

If your chairs piston is failing and your chair is in good shape otherwise, contact the company and see if they will replace the piston. Sometimes they warranty it regardless and even if they dont the purchase of the piston is far cheaper than buying a new chair. Pistons can usually cost between $120 to $200. Although they can be stubborn to remove it isnt that hard to do. There should be a video or two on how to remove the piston.

The chairs that I used to buy (although comfy) did nothing to help keep my spine straight. The Secret Lab purchase has me sitting much straighter and my spine is feeling much better.

In India, it's common for people to sleep on "coir" mattresses. Made from the fibres of coconut husks, they are basically solid. Your body can get used to a lot of things..... that doesnt make it good. Had a titan 2020 for 1 1/2 years now and it's the worst chair I have ever owned. Yes, I can sit in it. No, it will *never* be comfortable.

Understand however, you are "ONE" person. I know several people who actually find their chairs comfortable. Personal preference plays a factor here as not every body is built the same.

I have used one since late 2019, at first I thought I made a mistake because it is so firm but my lower back and leg pain disappeared and whenever I go out and need to sit on other chairs I always think how bad they are compared to my comfortable chair at home.
