A good way to find these rarer larvae is to build a grid and put up an auto crafter. You can't do anything with it, but it will show you what larvae are immediately around. Just walk around a few times and they should spawn in. Leave it up and come back periodically to see what you get. A good place to do this is the Lost Paradise where you found the golden butterflies.
