I watch several YT channels of those with a firewood business. In nearly all cases, they handle (by hand) the wood many times. Hand lifted to the splitter, hand thrown into a trailer, hand taken out of trailer, hand stacked, hand loaded for delivery. Wow! So much handling, especially by hand. The yard has stacks, stacks and more stacks - species, time of seasoning, etc. Your process is so much better streamlined. The double/triple/quad handling is eliminated.

Your analysis is correct. Handle it as few times as possible. Boss Man.

boss man and all folks that supports your operation. to quote some who i can not remember in my start of my 67th year. though we celebrate different sabbath. your faith is the start of my faith of my mama and papa. after a cruxifiction on some kind of across to bare. rumor has it the there are enough slivers and splinters to fill all of your trailers and all of your bulk tankers to hold kindling and fire starter for this winter and then some. lets put the faith of our parents behind us and bury any hatchets or pickaroons peaveys or cant or can not hooks or tomahawk cruise missiles. a picture is worth a thousand rubbles of splinters. a video told by the boss man holding a warm fresh cup of inverter boiled coffee or tea and all that java jive is simple hydration that is made with clean fresh water. shoot its raining duck undercover of a strategically placed pavilion. neither sun nor rain nor snow or dark of night will hold back the efforts of the boss man and his family jewels to prevent a 70-80 work week . this video was filmed in short ironwood shirt sleeves on a autumn day with many leaves of different colors washed away in the pouring rain and hurricane gayle winds. more later after a phone recharge and a potty break or a relief of yellow river from the kidneys and bladder screaming police release me let me go downstream. to much coffee it is time to go.

Great video Emerald. Boss man is right, much easier to keep your work space and equipment clean. Fixing equipment in the freezing mud sucks. I get the trailer idea too, makes sense, you get the ability to haul but with more diversity of use. Can't believe he cuts all day then still punches out a cord on the processor. No wonder you are coffee junkies.

@@KenBreon I would love to. I am the gentleman who heated his house with wood for more than 30+ years. Cut, split and stacked my word, performed all the service & repairs on my two 5.0 cu Pro Mac 850's and a Stihl 360 Pro. Even worked recently at an ACE hardware where I also serviced Stihl and Husqvarna's. Do not know every Thing about saws but do know one heck of a lot about keeping them serviced, repaired and running right. I could never get enough of working with wood, heating with it and the labor involved, and doing small engine repair on the farm. Do hope to come by some day, get my hands "dirty" again, and perform some helpful work there at Lumber Capital. I am semi-retired BUT... if I lived nearby, I would take care of your saws like they were my own, just for the pure pleasure of it. Kindest Regards to you, Boss gentleman!

Good hard work! I can relate. We operated a ‘buy and load yourself’ Wood yard for twenty five years. There was usually around twenty five 1/3 increments on the lot. Established customers would pull in, load their wood and leave the money. Sometimes there’d be three or four customers helping each other. 200 cords each year and We didn’t deliver a stick. Thirty years total in the firewood business. I decided two years ago to call it quits.

👋🏽 Hello from the tyrannical state of Oregon. We are new to the wood business, we bought ten acres and installed a huge woodstove/cookstove. Well, we saw an ad for a ‘cord’ of wood: $300 The guys arrived with the wood, loosely thrown into the back of their truck. We stacked it later, the measurements are: 4 feet tall 8 feet long 2feet wide We got screwed. According to many sources, this is not a full cord, but 1/3 cord. Lesson learned.
